EAGERLY PURSUE and seek to acquire [this] love[ make it your aim, your great quest]; and earnestly desire and cultivate the spiritual (gifts),especially that you may prophesy( interpret the divine will and purpose in inspired preaching and teaching).
1 Corinthians 14:1 (AMPLIFIED VERSION)
Jesus taught in Mark chapter four that the believer will become unfruitful when he gets entangled with the ambitions of the world.
Our aim and our quest in the body of Christ is to build the church.
So while the world and it's system continues to pursue it's desires, what should we be doing?
In 1 Corinthians 14 we are taught of the very special gifts of prophesy and prayer.
Praying in an unknown tongue speaking the mysteries of God to God.
Praying out the perfect Will of God.
Speaking words of exhortation, edification and comfort to one another.
While the pursuits of the lost man tear down and choke the goodness around him, the ambition in the heart of God's men and women should be producing goodness and courage and action in the hearts of God's people.
A seed doesn't begin with roots, roots develop over time.
SEED TIME AND HARVEST
Father,
I thank you for this day that you have made for your children to stand and speak to the hearts and minds of men of Your love.
We thank you for the anointing that lifts burdens and destroys the yoke of ignorance and fear and lack and religion.
Father we thank You that you are always moving and always present and always faithful.
Speak Lord through your children with a loud and clear voice not for us only but for those who don't know you to come in among us and be healed.
Bless the Word of Endurance that will be sown that none may be offended.
Bless the teaching on the proper use of wealth that no man be deceived about the purpose for wealth.
Turn the pursuits of men from the world system to the Kingdom system through the anointing.
Guard the hearts of those who are babes lest the enemy grab hold of the seed.
Holy Spirit move among us and prepare the hearts to hear, receive and bring forth fruit.
Reveal what needs to be uncovered and put from out of our midst what needs to be dismissed.
We thank You for being a merciful and mighty God who supplies above all that we could ever ask or think.
And we give You and no one else all of the glory, all of the honor and all praise.
In the Name and Blood of Your Son our Saviour we say thank You for loving us and counting us worthy.
Amen
