PRIDE, LIKE A THORN

PRIDE IS LIKE A THORN
Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.
Proverbs 26:12

Pride will bring a man to a low position.
When pride is allowed to take root it produces shame: but humility is the root that produces wisdom.

You can't learn and grow and develop without a teachable, humble spirit.
In the body of Christ we are always growing and learning no matter the year that we came in.
At 91 years of age you are still learning and humble is what you should be even at 91years.
Because if you are not, you have closed your ear and heart to God.

It's so funny how we develop from being children who humbly receive everything that our parents have to say as truth and beneficial, to becoming an entity who believes that most of what our parents say is outlandish and spacey.

There is a certain age when pride tries to introduce itself into the mind of child.
We believe that it begins when they hit puberty.
Pride by no means has chosen teenagers as it's exclusive target.

We know that many adults have fallen victim to the choking and tearing down that comes as a result of pride.
I'm saying it begins much earlier and I have even seen it in much younger children.
Be mindful of the attitudes of your children, everything is not cute don't allow pride to set up in their hearts.

One of the major characteristics of pride is selective and resistant hearing.
Words falling on resistant ears.

Notice I didn't say deaf ears.

I said, selective and resistant hearing.
The Word is going forth for everyone in the building, but pride believes that it's only for the visitors.
They heard what the messenger said, but their flesh resists it.
Pride

Like in Mark chapter 4:18 where it says some of the word fell among thorns...

A thorn is not receptive, a thorn draws blood at the touch.
A thorn hears what you said but what they want and what they believe is right crowds out what you are saying.
Their goal and pursuit which is usually to be right in any instance that would require them examining them selves screams above what is being spoken.

Have you ever watched two children and one is trying to get the truth across and the other child, puts their fingers in their ears and shakes their head left and right is yelling " LA LA LA LA LA , I CAN'T HEAR YOU, LA LA LA LA LA, I CAN'T HEAR YOU"?

The words ain't falling on deaf ears, they are falling on ears that believe that what is being said doesn't apply to them.

Oh honey let me share what I have learned from experience, observation and the Word Of God.
That every Word from God is reserved from the greatest to the least of men in every area of this globe.

And the worst thing that you can do to anyone who you call friend or family is to give them the impression that they are above correction, reproof or instruction.

That this instruction is only for those outside my friend circle but we in the circle can act how we want to act.
Nope.

So many people live a frustrated life even in church because they can't hear from God and they try and work up a Word from Him.
It's not that you can't it's that you won't hear from Him.
Doing cartwheels and asking for miracles and breakthroughs and all we have to do is humble ourselves and listen.

The LORD God has respect for the humble His voice is crystal clear to them.

Psalm 138:6
Though the LORD be high, yet hath He respect for the humble: but the proud he knows from afar off.

Well if God Almighty deals with the proud man with a long stick, there must be a reason.
That is exactly what I do too, the spirit of arrogance will be kept at more than arms length away from me.
Pride, it's like a thorn, you can't get next to it.

This can be a hindering factor to your life at any age.
This is not a generation X problem.

Jesus said, If any man have an ear to hear, let him hear.
THE LORD IS SPEAKING
IF WE ARE TRYING TO HEAR HIM ABOVE OUR FLESH WE WILL HAVE TO HUMBLE OUR SELVES.

Proverbs 8:13

Father,

I come to You in the humble Name of Jesus knowing that You LORD are a God who loves and exalts the humble.
I ask for You to create in those who read this Word today a heart of lowliness that we may hear from You.

I thank You that You hear me and that what I desire in this prayer I have not because of who I am but because You are faithful.
In the Faith that You have given my by the Blood of my Saviour.
So BE It.

Jeremiah 13:15
