THE COMPASSION OF GOD

THANK YOU FATHER

But He being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all of his wrath.

For he remembered that they were but flesh; a wind that passeth away, and cometh not again.

How oft did they provoke him in the wilderness, and grieve him in the desert!

Yea they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.
Psalm 78:38-41

Father bless and anoint the reading of these words.

I know that other cultures wonder why we always go around talking about Jesus.
Some people think it's so uncouth to do that.
Even people who profess Christ don't think it's necessary to tell others about the goodness of God.

When you know that if it had not been for Gods love and compassion you would still be living paralyzed by fear, you want to run and tell people about Him.

I don't know why if folks believe in something that gives them joy and peace they wouldn't be shouting about it from the roof tops.

I got to tell somebody about Jesus.
Because nobody has ever healed men or fed 5,000 plus with 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread, or raised the dead.
He never took a life.
He never assaulted or maimed a soul.
He never required that we do.
He never required that we harm ourselves to satisfy Him.

When man didn't receive Him He still had compassion enough to give them the opportunity again.

So many people never even open their mouth about Christ until you come along proclaiming who He is.
It's good that He be told however it begins.

There is a famous phrase that I hear often that says, "I don't have to tell everybody about Christ, I live my life in a way that tells people about Christ."
Sure you do.

The bible even teaches us to do this, to live in such a manner that the heathen has nothing to accuse you of.
To live so that the devil has nothing to hold over your head.
Some folks don't open their mouth because they know that they have given the enemy enough ammunition in the last five minutes to shut them up.

They know that the cross they are wearing on their neck might as well be for warding off vampires rather than representing Christ.

In living a life that represents Christ we are also told to proclaim Him.
But when folks ask you, "What is it that keeps you and your family stable in the time of fear and famine?", What do you say?

Do you say that it's because of the trust that you have placed in Jesus Christ or that it's some way of coping that you have developed over the years sitting in conference with your girlfriends?

Do you think that it's based in your charity so that you brag on your self and not on the goodness of God?

I know folks don't like everything that I say or how I say it.
I'm in such good company with Jesus because that was His experience.

Some even want to know what kind of Christian I am, mostly because I won't be intimidated.
Because the world is so used to Christians who won't tell them what God said when you come along telling them, it's like culture shock.

The world is used to Christians who sit in a group with them acting just like they do.
Complaining and worrying and lying and holding grudges.

They are used to Christians who are quiet, timid and racked with guilt.

The world is used to Christians who don't represent Christ.

So when you come along and you don't want to blend in with that nonsense they don't understand what kind of Christian you are.

When you come along and you hate every false way they are looking for a prophet or priest to tell them, "Oh darling she is wrong and she needs prayer."
Not that you are wrong and living in sin continually but your smile will keep you out of hell.

Please open the book up and take a look at it for your self.

I know Mary said she was a Christian and she goes to church, I think Mary even bakes cakes for the church and she never said it wasn't God's best or His plan for me to live like I do.

I think John is a deacon somewhere but I don't ever remember him mentioning the truth about why God doesn't want folks living in sin.

Yes, Karen did write a book of prayers but I don't ever recall her not going to the casino with us and tying one on.

David always sits in the group with us cussing and putting folks down, he is not all uptight and churchy, He believes in God.

The devil and demons believe in God and they know that He is real because He cast them out of His kingdom.
They believe and know and don't follow Him.

Lucy does wear those long skirts and cross pins but because she was sleeping with men she didn't know, I thought she didn't know Jesus.

Because you can look a certain way and talk a certain way and be walking away from the throne and leading blind folks.

I don't use guilt or fear to get the Word of God out, I'm just telling the truth.
That's what the Lord brought when He came.

He didn't bring myth's, condemnation, hatred or terror when He came.
That is a compassionate God.

We don't even know how fortunate and favoured of God we are to have this opportunity to repent and turn to God.

If you look at the history of man and him trying to do things another way, other than what God has established, you will see that God can flush man's plan right into non existence.

That He could turn an entire area of sin into a pile of ash, yet for righteousness sake He will have compassion and spare it.

You have been spared because of Abraham.
You have been spared to have the opportunity to receive God's grace through His only begotten Son Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

No one has the authority to cleanse you of sin but Jesus.
There is no other name, no other authority, no other man who died and rose again, His grave is empty because He is Alive.

But not only for you, but so that you can tell someone else.
Don't limit the hand of God in your life, learn who Christ is.
Receive His compassion today because we don't know if tomorrow will come.
