WHAT WILL YOU CALL IT?

WHAT DO YOU SAY THAT IT IS?

Where the expectation is established.

School has started and we had Open House the other night at the Elementary school for my two youngest children.

My daughters teacher has a method that I approve of.
She sets an expectation for the children at the beginning.
On the wall at the front of the class is a big sign that reads EXPECTATION.
Underneath that sign are 5 things that she expects from these third graders.

She says this week is the week that they will have to get acquainted with the expectations and next week will begin the time of accountability.
She is even giving them a grace period.

She gave a grace period, I didn't.
I have been going over these expectations every day after school so there will be no excuse.

So I'm going over Genesis at lunch yesterday and run across where the EXPECTATION was established, so this will be a lesson for my children this evening.

Genesis 2:8 And the Lord God planted a garden toward the East, in Eden; and there He put the man whom He had formed.

Genesis 2:15 And the Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to tend and guard and keep it.
EXPECTATION

I'M ONLY GOING OVER ONE OF GOD'S EXPECTATIONS TODAY.
GENESIS 2:16,17
WERE THE MAIN ESTABLISHMENT OF EXPECTATION FOR MAN.

He gave man a responsibility and He expected man to guard and keep it.

Genesis 2:19, 20
19 And out of the ground the Lord formed every wild beast and living creature of the field and every bird of the air and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them: and whatever Adam called every living creature, that was his name.

20a And Adam gave names to all the livestock and to the birds of the air and to every[wild] beast of the field...

The teachers have an expectation of the children and the parents.
The parents have an expectation of the children and teachers.

You have an expectation of other folks and other folks have an expectation of you.
The country has placed expectations on it's President.
And the President has placed expectations on the people of this country.
As it should be.

If you have Faith your highest expectations have been placed in God.

BUT I WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT GOD HAS AN EXPECTATION OF YOU!

OH YES!

I know folks don't want no parts of God actually having an expectation of them, but that is too bad because He does.
He has an expectation of man, every man.

God expected Adam to name every animal.
He expected Adam to obey His command, He expected Adam to expand and care for the blessing that He provided for him in the Garden.

He expected Adam to rank these animals that He had created.
The animals didn't name Adam, Adam gave name to the animals.

He said I will take this to Adam because I made him in my image and likeness so that he can demonstrate the authority that I have given him.

Created him to do my Will.

God gave man the power to call a Lion a Lion
Adam said, Camel and camel was what it was and what it is.

Adam said, Red Breasted Robin and Red Breasted Robin was what it was and what it is.

Adam said, Ram and Ram was what it was and what it is.

Adam said, Ape and Ape is what it was and what it is.

WHAT WILL YOU CALL IT?

WILL YOU CALL IT FINISHED?

Somebody is bringing something to you, it could stress you out, it could be described as difficult.

WHAT WILL YOU CALL IT?
This is what you will call it:
Done with no effort or sorrow added to it.

God expected man to give things a station and a category.

HE'S BRINGING SOMETHING TO YOU TODAY, PRESENTING SOMETHING TO YOU AND ASKING YOU TO NAME IT.

I know what the world thinks it is.
I know what they call it.

BUT GOD TOLD YOU TO PUT A NAME ON THE TUMOR.
LETS CALL IT "DRIED UP AT THE ROOT" IN JESUS NAME!

You laid off, looking for work, is that what they call it?

IN TRANSITION is what you call it.

DID YOU HAVE A FIGHT OR A DISAGREEMENT WITH YOUR SPOUSE OR CHILD, WHAT ARE YOU CALLING IT?

"DEVIL BACK UP OUT OF MY HOUSE" IS WHAT YOU ARE CALLING IT.

IS THE CASE LOAD HEAVY?

CALL IT EASY AND LIGHT BECAUSE YOU HAVE LAID IT OVER ON YOUR ADVOCATE.

I KNOW WHAT EVERYBODY ELSE CALLS IT.
I KNOW WHAT THE NEWS PAPER CALLS IT.
I KNOW WHAT THE MISINFORMED AND LACKING GOD'S WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE CALL IT.
I KNOW WHAT THE CIRCUMSTANCE IS SCREAMING IT IS!

THE LORD IS WAITING ON YOU TO CALL IT SOMETHING ELSE.

ADAM SAID, BUTTERFLY AND BUTTERFLY IT WAS AND BUTTERFLY IT IS.

WHAT WILL YOU CALL IT?

CALL IT!
GIVE IT A NAME!
