2 John:9
Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
He that abideth.
That means we have an assignment or a charge if you will.
We have a part to play.
Abiding.
One of the meanings of the word Abide is to satiate to become tipsy.
To be so soaked in Jesus that you are intoxicated with Him.
When you hiccough He comes out of your mouth.
Another definition of abiding is standing, not laying down and balling up but standing in Him.
If we don't stand in Jesus, if we don't saturate our selves in the Christ we don't have the Father.
Without the Father where does that leave a man?
Separated from God leaves a man in a dark place.
You can't have one without the other.
That statement is a lesson all by it self.
We can't seek revenge and have God at the same time.
Vengeance is mine sayeth the Lord, We have God if we allow Him to retaliate on our behalf.
You can't have one without the other.
Can you think of some things where we can't have one without the other?
I can.
According to the Word:
We can't have forgiveness if we don't forgive.
We can't have redemption without repentance.
We can't reap a harvest without sowing seed.
Abide in Him and He shall abide in you.
So this means if we don't live in Him, He doesn't live in us.
Live In the Word.
