THE WAY OF THE WISE

The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.
Proverbs 15:24

The focus of the wise is God and what He says.

If our goal is to run on and be and do what God has called us to accomplish not only in our own lives but to accomplish the vision and mission that the Father has given to us so that others can be free, we can't be double minded.

To live the life of more abundance in peace and confidence it has to be lived focused on righteousness.

The Bible teaches that the double minded man is unstable in all of his ways.
When I say double minded I mean choosing Christ as LORD and then not agreeing with all of His doctrine.
That's double minded.

Two opinions equal division, we can't separate Jesus from His teaching.
Anything divided will not stand.
There is only one way for us.

I have spoken to many Christians who think the things of the world are just no big deal.
They are sympathetic to the behaviour of the lost and I understand that,we must have compassion, Jesus did, real sympathy begins with sharing how to be free of sin.
This is what Jesus did.

He didn't just stop the crowd from stoning the woman to death who was caught in the act of adultery.
He stood her up, told her she was forgiven because no one in that crowd qualified to forgive her but Him.
He then told her to, go and sin no more.

Often this is left off of the messages.
Breakthrough! or "God is up to something" and "Are you ready for a miracle?" is all we come out remembering.
Who is ready to break out of sin?
Are we ready for the miracle that comes with laying that down?
Or laying complacency down.

Don't get complaisant, stay on fire and alert to the ways, instruction and counsel of God.

I talked about the parable in Matthew 25 Monday where Jesus is basically teaching us to get ready and stay ready if we want to go with Him.

Readiness is a life that lives in the moment.
It's an attitude that says if Christ comes right now, I'm ready.

Are you prepared?

That's a question that I have to ask my self, If Jesus came right now while you are standing in this long line and your back is hurting and these folks are taking all day, where is your heart at?
Am I ready?

Jesus told us to watch therefore, for we know not the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Now when Jesus advises us to watch He doesn't mean get a lawn chair and set a 24 hour 365 /7 day a week looking up at the clouds.

He wants us to put a diligent watch over our preparation, how are we redeeming the time until His return?
Are we taking our time to renew our minds and contribute to the building of the Kingdom of God?
Are we on purpose seeking Him and how to be more like Him?
Are we keeping a watch over our own thoughts, actions, behaviour?

There is a reason that Jesus instructs us to do this.
Be ready, not for fear but because it makes sense.

When you know that you are trying to arrive in Florida at a 1:00pm and your flight leaves at 11:15am you are going to make sure that you have your self at the airport on time.

If you are going out on a date and your husband got tickets to see your favorite singer or band, you are going to get ready, you might start getting ready the day he buys the tickets by shopping and making hair appointments, picking out jewelry, nail polish, the right purse, coat and shoe.

We get ready for interviews, work and church but are we getting ready every day all day for when Jesus comes?
Time with God is how we live ready, being in a constant state of readiness.

If we don't keep this attitude we begin to live like He's not even coming back.
Doing and saying things that don't line up with our confession.
And when He does return, which side of the five virgins in the parable will that leave a man?

The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.
Go study and think on the Parable in Matthew 25:1-13
