Romans 12:10
Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above your selves.
One of my sisters in Christ made the comment that the very thing that Americans claim that they wanted from this administration they are now shying away from and not willing to support.
The conclusion is that they are not willing to pay the cost.
Not willing to give of theirs for the next man.
Jesus was willing to lay down His life for all of us and He did.
I don't wonder why people won't give up their time or their comfort for others because I know that the word says that in these days many will be lovers of them selves.
But not so in the body of Christ, right.
It ain't about us, is it?
No it's not.
It's about God's Will being done in the earth and as that is accomplished He sees to every thing that we need.
I work in the health care industry and I am responsible daily for meeting the needs of each patient that I come in contact with irrespective of my job title.
I perform ultrasound of the arteries inside the brain but I am not above changing a patients diaper who is in my lab, I am not above pushing them to their car or to their next appointment.
I will run and pick up something to eat or drink for them or do whatever they need in order to make them feel comfortable and cared for while they are with me.
I don't have to have on my white lab coat in order to care for you.
I don't work on commission.
In order to anticipate your needs and respond kindly, courteously and promptly, all I have to do is care about you.
Every interaction and encounter is of the utmost importance to me because I am a caregiver.
It is not just my job.
Care assumes responsibility, it shows concern, it esteems those above it self, it sets a watchful eye and pays attention to and anticipates the needs of those around them.
It doesn't walk away turning a blind eye to the needs of another person.
This is why Haiti is not left on it's own to rebuild.
The Bible teaches that there are hirelings and a servants.
The hireling will walk away from you and the servant will stay with you.
Do you care enough about your neighbor to stay?
Do you care enough about your neighbor to see that they receive care and comfort when they need it?
I'm just asking.
Just considering how we can spur one another along toward love and good deeds.
Love Y'all
