May the day of my birth perish, and the night it was said, " A boy is born!"
That day may it turn to darkness;
May God above not care about it;
may no light shine upon it.
may darkness and deep shadow claim it once more;
may a cloud settle over it;
may blackness overwhelm it's light.
That night may thick darkness seize it;
may it not be included among the days of the year.
nor be entered into any of the months.
May that night be barren;
may no shout of joy be heard in it.
May those who curse days curse that day.
May it's morning stars become dark.
I mean Job just went on and on to the point where he just asked God, "Why didn't you kill me at birth?"
Because Job was going through a tough time to say the least.
If you are going through a tough time right now, Be encouraged!
Job was a good man who suffered major losses. He lost all of his children in one day, all of his wealth, then his health was stricken.
Job even lost the support of all of his closest friends and his own wife.
I love Job's testimony.
Because even with all his grief and all that he said in the middle of his trial, he didn't stop expecting God to deliver him.
Job didn't give up and take his own life like some may have suggested.
He kept fighting.
He kept on expecting.
That's what I want you to do today.
It doesn't matter what happened yesterday or last week or last month.
This is a new day!
It's the day that the Lord has made so that you could rejoice right in it!
So many folks have been to the place where job was.
So many are there right now.
Where they have suffered major loss and had no support.
I want you to know today that just like Job if we keep the faith, God will restore us double.
He is our support.
There was a time in my life when I felt like I wasn't gonna make it one more day.
Where I just had little to no hope that things would change.
I didn't have the Word of God, I didn't have my husband at the time to encourage me, I felt like I was on my own.
I hadn't been taught that God has the desire to change things for my good, simply because I trust that He will.
Many people have had times like this where they were so ready to throw in the towel to give up and to even take their own life.
Days when the feeling to just give up was greater than the feeling that "this too shall pass".
You may have been suffering with a physical pain that was so great that you thought a gunshot would feel better than this right now.
You may be dealing with the emotional pain of being hurt by someone you love.
And your heart is broken and you feel like it can never be mended.
For me the roughest times came when I tried to handle every little load and every big load all by myself.
It got even worse when I went to people who didn't have the good sense that God gave them, so they were not equipped to help.
Nothing helped until I heard a word about how God loved me and wanted the best for me, this is when I started to expect God to change things for me.
What the Spirit of the Lord and I want to share with you today is that there is hope for you even in your time of affliction when you trust in God.
No matter what is happening God loves you and it is not Him who is causing the pain.
God doesn't knock you down to slow you down.
If you do get knocked down The Lord will use that opportunity to speak to you and let you know that He has the desire to lift you up.
God is so good because He knows that we can only believe and do up to the amount of knowledge that we have.
So in His Wisdom, Grace and Enduring Mercy He supplies for our learning Through His Holy scriptures.
When we know better we can do better.
Romans 15:4
For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
The Word was sent to be a comfort and to give us hope, to help us to be able to hold on even when times are tough.
What is hope?
It is a joyful and confident expectation of Good.
Knowing that God is good and that He will turn our mourning into dancing.
Good only comes from God because He is good only.
I know a lot of people have this idea that if God is good why does He allow things to happen?
It isn't God allowing it.
It's man allowing it.
So as a man don't allow it anymore.
Take these words and lift them up above the troubled situation.
The first thing that we want to do is find out what God has promised us through His Son Jesus Christ.
Then place all of our confident expectation in God and His promises.
I know that now a days we tend to place all of our expectation in our education, social connections, schemes, wealth, looks, age and experience but even those things fail us in stressful times.
God will never fail, He will never leave us nor forsake us.
1 Timothy 6:17 says:
Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy.
Everything else is uncertain in this world but God is faithful.
Tell them who place there trust in the things that the world system places their trust in, don't get pumped up with the accolades and titles and the arrogance of men.
Trusting that working four jobs and playing the lottery and hustling is going to clear all of the drama up.
That "I gotta do what I gotta do regardless of what I neglect" attitude eliminates God from the equation.
There is a way to have our needs met and it's through Christ.
Depression can so often be a result of putting our expectations in people and the plan that everyone else is running with. It can also happen when we compare our selves with other people.
You are a unique creation of God and He made you that way so that you would bring a beauty that no one else could bring to the picture.
I heard it said that God is the ultimate artist, and what would the world be like if every bird looked the same or every fish or if every flower was red only?
Stop feeling like you have to drive a Bentley to be considered a success.
We can't rest just because we have a pile of money.
This is a misconception that a lot of people have.
We can accomplish good things with money because it is a tool, but that won't necessarily give us peace and it won't bring back loved ones, cover wrongs or save us either.
We can be stressed out and going to hell right in the middle of all our charity if we don't tap into and receive the peace that comes with knowing the love of Christ.
Feeling like we have failed if we aren't married because we are comparing our self to someone else.
Feeling like you aren't good enough because you don't wear a size 6.
Feeling like you are a failure because you don't have the girl or guy anymore that other people thought was so attractive.
Feeling like you hate someone because they have a skill that you don't have.
I'm not saying that feelings aren't valid or these things don't hurt, because they do, but they don't have to keep you down and depressed, they shouldn't be controlling your thought life.
That is not God's Will for us.
These things will cause depression, and depression is designed to sap our strength and suppress our judgement.
It is also designed by the enemy to center our focus on our selves and withdraw our eyes from God who is where our real help comes from.
The prophet Isaiah said:
But they that wait (who hope in) upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint.
They won't give up, they expect against all odds.
Hope against hope.
They know that if this chick left she wasn't the right one anyhow.
They know that if God be for them who cares who is against them.
I want you to know that God is for you when you are happy and when you are hurting.
God is for you when every single sucker on the planet turns their back on you, you can trust God.
It may be your father who left your mother and you are confused and placing blame on your mother.
Looking for an excuse to be angry, don't do it.
Your mother may be out there and selfish and she is confused and placing blame on you.
Give it to God.
He will handle momma and daddy, they will both have to answer to God.
Don't you put your self in a place of regret based on what someone else did.
Love and keep expecting God to do what He said He would do.
Now there are a lot of people who have a zeal (never quit attitude) but it is a zeal with no knowledge.
They will keep going just to spite others or because they don't know what else to do. That's not what I'm talking about.
Not a mindless energizer bunny but a heart attitude of faith.
The Father doesn't want us to use spite as our fuel, because that will lead to pride.
The Father wants us to understand that our hope and our strength to endure tough times rests in Him alone, that He is our fuel.
How we do we get this hope?
How do we hold on to this hope in the middle of painful and hurtful times?
Faith
Romans 10:17
So then Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.
It all begins with salvation, when you heard the gospel preached, John 3:16.
When we receive the gift of faith and the gift of Jesus, now we have to put on the hope of salvation as a helmet, it has to become our thinking.
It will always go back to the hearing of the Word of God because this is the anchor for our souls.
Our soul is our mind, will and our emotions.
And the only way to keep our mind, will and emotions in tact is through the meditating of this gospel, day and night like Joshua 1:8 says that this is how we make our way successful.
This is how we have love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance in the middle of pain.
Proverbs says that hope deferred is what makes the heart sick...
Don't postpone your hope, you don't need to put it in layaway and pay on it.
You can have it today.
Praise The Lord!
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance(realization/manifestation) of things hoped(expected) for, the evidence(proof) of things not seen.
It says that the things hoped for are not seen, not that they don't exist.
You may not be married right now.
You may not be out of debt right now.
You may not be finished with school right now.
Your project may not be successful right now.
You may not have the job right now.
You may not know where to go right now.
You may not feel strong enough right now.
You might not have the support of people right now.
What I really want you to know is that Faith is the manifestation of what you have come to expect.
You will have what you expect.
Don't take your troubles and your struggles and use them as a means to manipulate people.
That is a Word from the Lord right there.
People do this often, they use there trial as an excuse for poor behaviour.
Get some help because help is available.
God loves you and so do I, neither will be mocked.
Jesus loves us and this is why He said to take our troubles and lay them at the His feet.
Jesus said,
Come unto me all you that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
Matthew 11:28-30
I want to assure you that God loves you because He sent this Word specifically for you.
And weeping may endure for a night, but joy does come in the morning.
IT'S MORNING!
I invite you to come and learn of Jesus who overcame every trouble that you would ever have in this life.
Go to church Sunday.
You may not have been in a church in a month of Sunday's but go this Sunday and listen to what the Lord has prepared just for you because He loves you.
EXPECT GOOD AND IT WILL BE WHAT YOU HAVE.
IT'S WHAT JOB DID AFTER HE CRIED ALL NIGHT.
IT'S MORNING!
LOVE Y'ALL
