WHAT IS OUR JOY DEPENDANT UPON?
Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy: at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
Psalm 16:11
What the Father has said.
Thank You LORD.
Knowing that God preserves His people is the beginning of joy.
That our Father in heaven watches over us, not to crush us but to comfort and build us up and bring us out.
The Apostle Paul wrote in Romans chapter fifteen about how he so desired to go back to Rome so that he could come in the joy of the Lord and be refreshed with them.
It's so refreshing to get up early in the morning and speak about the joy of the LORD!
Be refreshed with me this morning!
Amen.
When the Apostle Paul wrote to the church at Corinth he said, it is by the grace of God that we are even able to live in this world and do what we are doing.
Able to do in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the favor of God.
This is truth on high right here.
Paul said, we aren't writing some new thing but what you have already read and acknowledged as truth.
Even Paul had to be sure that he didn't return to the former things where he was spiritually persecuting people in the name of the cross but guiding them and reminding them that it is written.
The prophet Isaiah said,
The Spirit of The Lord God is upon me; because the LORD hath appointed me to preach good tidings to the meek(humble and teachable); He hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
To appoint to them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He might be glorified.
Amen
Jesus said,
...That you shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and you shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.
Paul was teaching them that he didn't have something special and covert that the Father wouldn't given to all men who come to Christ.
When you love righteousness and hate wickedness, God will anoint you with the oil of gladness.
When you come to Christ you receive what Paul had and Jesus has, God's Grace, God's Holy Spirit and God's Word.
Jesus told His disciples the same thing.
Paul knew that he wouldn't live forever on this earth and Jesus knew that He had to go away, so they both had to prepare people to trust the Word Of God like they did.
There was no preaching to Jesus that He would fail because God had already told Him otherwise.
There was no telling Paul that he wouldn't survive to do what Jesus told him he would do because Jesus had told him otherwise.
That's why Paul could shake off poison and keep going.
Paul wanted the churches to learn what Jesus had taught him, that we are not sufficient of our selves to think anything of our selves; but our sufficiency is of God.
Paul said, I won't talk to you all as if I have dominion over your faith, but as a helper of your joy: for by faith you have stood.
You may be suffering right now and your joy may be low, but you are still here and it's by faith that you opened your eyes this morning.
The Father wants you to know something.
It's nothing new and it's nothing that I made up.
The Father brings His people out with JOY!
With gladness!
It's recorded in Holy Scripture.
He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.
Psalm 105:37
And He brought forth His people with joy, and His chosen with gladness...
Psalm 105:43
A helper of our joy.
Whatever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
And hope makes us not ashamed but strengthens us because, the Joy of the LORD is our strength.
Nehemiah 8:10
My prayer is that the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing that you may abound in hope through the power of the Holy Ghost and your faith in Jesus Christ.
Consider this.
Psalm 35:27
Love Y'all
