AGREEING WITH GOD

...And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Genesis 2:7

The man was made a living soul and given a will and emotions.



And the Lord God commanded the man saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Genesis 2:16,17



This was the mind of man being activated with the instruction of God.

This is the instruction given to man by God so that man would have something to then order his will and emotions by.



Something is directing the spirit, will and emotions of men in this earth.

It is a mindset.

Those who have come to Christ should no longer be conformed to the standards of this world but being filled with the Holy Spirit of God be seeking to be led of Him.



This change of mind doesn't simply just take place because we go to church, bible study or a Christian college.

This change of mind doesn't simply take place because we have minister or pastor in front of our name.

It doesn't automatically take place because we call on the Name of Jesus.



Salvation comes with believing and confessing the Name of Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.



Agreeing with God so that our spirit, will and emotions are directed by His Word begins when we seek first the kingdom and it's righteousness.

We do this to get our minds in line with our makers.



What am I talking about?

The Mind Of Christ!



I'm talking about real prosperity, victory and kingdom.

It begins in the mind and soul.

Jesus said,

...fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.



Don't be pressed about anything that is here now and won't last for eternity, but be concerned with the Word of God that will never pass away.



Believe on these words today to the saving of your soul.



Jesus said,

THOU SHALT LOVE THE LORD THY GOD WITH ALL THY HEART, AND WITH ALL THY SOUL, AND WITH ALL THY MIND.

Matthew 22:37



The Lord distinguishes the mind from the soul.



Marks account of the gospel of Jesus Christ records this:

...AND THOU SHALT LOVE THE LORD THY GOD WITH ALL THY HEART, AND WITH ALL THY SOUL, AND WITH ALL THY MIND, AND WITH ALL THY STRENGTH: this is the first commandment.



Even the smart mouth lawyer in Luke 10 who merely wanted to justify himself answers the Lord with what is written in holy scripture by saying,

THOU SHALT LOVE THE LORD THY GOD WITH ALL THY HEART, AND WITH ALL THY SOUL, AND WITH ALL THY STRENGTH, AND WITH ALL THY MIND; AND THY NEIGHBOR AS THY SELF.



Here again distinguishing the mind from the soul.

Romans 12:2 teaches the believer to not be conformed to this world: but to be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.



How do we prove what God's Will is?

First by knowing it.

How do you get to know it?

By seeking it.

Matthew 6:33



Because what we want as the light and salt of the world is a soul that magnifies the Lord.

When I say a soul that magnifies the Lord I am not just talking about standing in a sanctuary and participating in praise and worship.



I'm talking about our emotions and choices that will make God bigger than any situation or circumstance that we face on a daily basis.



How do men know that we belong to God?

By our fruit.

Not by our homes on the hill.

The Antichrist has a home on the hill.



By our degree on the wall?

The Antichrist has a degree.



Matthew 7:16-20

By their fruit you shall know them, not in the abundance of things will you know them.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

Meekness, temperance...



Jesus said, In your patience you will possess your souls.

Patience is a fruit of God's Spirit and it is a derivative of faith.



By operating in the fruit of God's instruction and Spirit you take the reigns of your soul.

You can control your emotions and hear the Holy Spirit who will guide and lead you into righteous decisions and choices.



But if you get all worked up in your mind and allow stressed out inpatient people to override the instruction of God you will get caught up in the first man's offence.



James said, He who wins souls is wise.

We don't win souls outside of having a firm grasp on our own will and emotion.
Matthew 7:4



Our soul not only has to be won by God but given up to Him to be changed by His instruction.

Have you gained the world when you lose the ability to control your emotions?



Consider those scriptures above today.



Heavenly Father,

You made Adam a living soul and you made the Lord Jesus Christ a quickening Spirit,

Quicken us Lord in our minds that our whole spirit, soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.



We thank You Father for creating in us a clean heart and for renewing in us a right spirit, for never casting us away from Your presence, and for not taking Your Holy Spirit from among us.



We glorify You and we magnify Your Name in all that we do.
