Hey Y'all,
Remember this is not a devotional, it's a lesson from The Holy Spirit of Grace.
It's actually an article today, the genuine one. :)
Print it out and study, you will be blessed.
Amen.
James the brother of Jesus wrote to his brothers in the faith saying,
Be doers of the Word don't merely listen to it, betraying(deceiving) and cheating your selves.
{So many people have just been simply listening and they have been cheated.}
For if anyone only listens to the Word without obeying (seeking God for understanding of what was said, believing) it and being a doer of it, he is like a man who looks carefully at his own natural face in a mirror;
For he thoughtfully observes himself, and then goes off and promptly forgets what he was like.
James 1:22,23
Never have so many missed it as they have with the misinterpretation of this scripture.
It's misrepresentation is what hurts a large number who have believed on the Name of Jesus.
You want to forget the old man but somebody keeps bringing him back tp your attention.
Who might that be?
Who would want you to take your eyes off of Christ?
You can't put new wine in old wineskins.
It's not the scripture that causes the confusion and condemnation because The Word brings life and it accomplishes wherever it is sent, it's how it's carried to the people that brings death.
This type of performing is supposed to encourage them to keep trusting God.
I see why folks are fainting in the day of adversity.
You want to believe that it's disobedience and you are stripping them of their faith.
God has something for you who trust in Him "to do" when you are not in the sanctuary being blamed and yelled at.
Something that is not designed to break you down when the trial is staring you in the face and the preacher is not there to knock you down and pick you up.
Hear the word today that makes you able to build you up and speak to any challenge with confidence.
"WALKING THE WALK"
DO YOU BELIEVE THAT CHRIST HAS REDEEMED YOU FROM THE CURSE OF THE LAW?
ROMANS 8:3
But he who looks carefully into the faultless law, the law of liberty, and is faithful to it and perseveres in looking into it, being not a heedless listener who forgets but an active doer, he shall be blessed in is doing.
James 1:25
HE WHO LOOKS CAREFULLY INTO THE FAULTLESS LAW AND IS FAITHFUL TO BELIEVE IT.
What is the faultless law?
Is it Deuteronomy 28?
No
It's Love that covers a multitude of sins.
John 3:16,17; 6:29
Because this is what you will be blessed in doing.
Looking into and being faithful to believe how you have been created new without fault.
Born Again.
Remember The Mirror
The Word is the mirror, look into it, don't walk a way from it and forget what you have seen and heard.
2Corinthians 5:17
This is what you look like honey!
Therefore if any man be In Christ Jesus, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.
Rememeber Colossians 2:13,14
This is you, don't forget it.
And you being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, ( Him who knew no sin)hath He quickened together with Him, having forgiven you all tresspasses;
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us that was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross...
Amen.
Who is He that knew no sin?
Is it those who preach not to steal and do steal?
No
Who was found without spot or blemish?
Is it he who teaches not to lie and then lies?
No
Who nailed your old ugly mug to the cross and gave you a new face?
Christ The Lord of lords did.
Do you think that when Jesus comes back for a church free of spot and or blemish it will be because of what the church is doing for Christ or what Christ has done for the church that makes it free of blemish?
Who is He that was faultless and yet He died for you and I who were filled with faults, sins and transgressions?
Look into it carefully and actively and it will bless you.
The misinterpretation of this is ending today.
Let's look at who James is writing to.
The twelve tribes scattered abroad, his brethren in the faith.
What a coincidence, that's exactly who I'm writing to today by the Grace and Spirit of God.
What is James teaching them to be a "doer of" in this letter?
TO WALK THE WALK BY LIVING THEIR FAITH.
This is how you live your faith.
He is teaching them to "do" everything that was said before he made those statements in verses 22-25.
Let's go back and see what we are to be "doing", Amen.
This is for you who are being come against with persecution and lied on for preaching the truth.
A tree matures and grows when it is supplied with the proper environment, weeds can sprout up anywhere.
You are going to be trees planted by the living waters.
This is taken from the Amplified version of holy scripture.
"WALKING THE WALK"
Really?
Let's see who is walking the walk.
Walking by faith and not by sight.
Okay.
Walking after the flesh means [trying to accomplish based on our deeds].
We want to walk after the Spirit where there is no condemnation.
There is no power in condemnation.
Amen.
James says "do this doers":
Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations.
Why would James say "to do" that?
To count it all joy!
Because he knew that the darkness hates the light.
John 3:19-21
Somebodies walk is about to be shown that it ain't "The Walk"
And that the trial and proving of our faith (relying on what Christ has done) would be a regular occurance in this world.
So James encouraged his brothers not to stress about trial, trouble or even tragedy because the opposition brings out endurance, steadfastness and patience.
HALLELUJAH!
Baby, let patience work it's work.
Or walk it's walk.
See a child of God knows how to wait well, how to enter into the rest, the blessed assurance of God.
Well you might ask, "James if I can't blame my lack of deeds or someone else and what they do or have not done for my trouble, what do I do?"
(When you place what God will do on the back of another person or your own goodness, God is no longer where your faith is directed)
Ain't no power without the focus being the Lord.
I'll be doggone if any man is going to lay his disobedience on my shoulders, shoot I done laid my own sin on Jesus so why in the tarnation would I try and carry yours.
And James felt the same way, that is why he said, "Not many of us should be teachers, self- constituted censors and reprovers of others)."
Do you know why he said that?
Because Rabbi's are judged to a greater and higher standard with greater severity [than other people; thus we assume the greater accountability and more persecution.
I'm not pressed about persecution because I know that it comes for the Words sake.
But you ain't getting my Word.
Honey people are preaching in the church that judgment has come upon other nations and our nation when The Word says that judgment will begin at the house of God with ministers and evangelists, prophets and teachers, pastors and apostles.
All the walkers that say they are walking the walk, had better be sure that their people know the truth.
Let endurance, steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be a people perfectly (mature) and fully developed with no defects lacking in nothing.
The tree has to be planted by the living waters.
Let's keep talking to the Apostle James.
So James, should I stop confessing to not be the perfect/ mature church and say something else?
Yeah, that would help because your profession has manifest it self in your teaching and your doing.
James I've heard all sorts of things about the measure of a true Christian, how do I find out what the measure of a true Christian is?
This is what "you do" says James the Apostle and brother of our Lord Jesus Christ.
If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproach or faultfinding, and it will be given him.
James 1:5
WOW!
Oh, I'm not done, hush.
Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering, (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who wavers (hesitates, doubts) is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and tossed by the wind.
James 1:6
Honey, I am a faith woman!
By The Grace of God I am what I am.
I am not Popeye, I'm a woman of Faith.
(Please don't let some arrogant whoever believe that he can come to God because he himself has walked the walk and talked the talk)
How is it that a man is able to ask God anything without hesitating or doubting?
How can the woman who has not tithed on every cent and broken the command of men come in the press behind to Christ expecting something ?
How can a woman caught in the very act of adultery on the verge of being stoned to death fall at the feet of Jesus and be declared more clean than her accusers?
Because that woman knows that God gives liberally to everyone who asks and God does it without reproach or faultfinding.
God does not show partiality.
Don't be deceived.
Ain't nothing blocking your blessings but not knowing.
Stop allowing folks to strip you of your faith.
Your faith in The LORD is your covering and when it's stripped you stand naked and ashamed.
Put your robe back on.
It's being uncertain about your position "In Christ" that makes you hesitant and doubtful.
God's people perish for lack of knowledge.
James says, truly, let not such a person imagine that he will receive anything [he asks for] from the Lord,
[For being as he is] a man of two minds (hesitating, dubious, irresolute), [he is] unstable and unreliable and uncertain about everything [ he thinks, feels, decides].
Who is it that would like to keep you uncertain, asking,
Has God said that you are accepted in the beloved?
James didn't say these things to chastise or condemn the hearer's, he's teaching and building their faith.
Amen.
How is it that saved men are still seeing sin when they walk past the mirror?
When they look into the perfect law of liberty.
Some of them aren't even looking, so they will let somebody else tell them how they look.
God told you to seek Him first.
Is it that they don't believe hard enough?
Is it that they don't do right enough?
No it isn't because of those things, it's because somebody told them it was those things.
We are turning from the wisdom of men to the wisdom of God today.
This is repentance.
He has received Christ as the full atonement for all of his sin, yet someone keeps taking him away from the perfect law of liberty.
The faultless law of love that is represented In Christ.
Christ has redeemed him, but he continues to believe that there is a high price to pay to pick up your cross and follow Jesus.
When Christ Jesus paid the price once and for all.
Somebody told you that there is a great struggle, when The Lord said, My yoke is easy and my burden is light...
I'm not talking about being lazy, not evangelizing the lost or doing what God told you to do,
so dry that lie up and take it back to the pit of hell where it came from.
Living for Christ in faith requires having this knowledge.
Let's look at this with the eye of the spirit.
Look into the mirror carefully as James instructs us "to do".
We learned yesterday that we have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ, and that we should put on that new man, right?
Our white robe.
So when a man looks into the mirror should he see himself or Christ?
Who is God looking at to make the judgment?
You had better hope it's Christ and not you.
Especially if you have former knowledge of this and for fear kept this from His people.
Meditate on these scriptures:
James 1:16-21
Trust that I have not plucked this out to make a point to any man, The Lord is revealing this to set people free.
I don't have a passion for the Word in order to shoot folks down.
My passion for God is birthed out of being able to lift folks up.
We are going to look at the entire book of James since the people are saying that those who teach Grace avoid it.
You don't have to avoid anything when the Lord is on your side.
Still doing what God told me to do.
Keep The Faith
Where it belongs, In Christ and His finished work.
LOVE Y'ALL
