Hallelujah!

This is another beautiful day fit for the true gospel to be preached.
Amen.

Yesterday we established that Christ Jesus who is the new covenant, testament and command is our teacher.

That He came to be the atonement for our sins and He did just that.
Jesus Christ redeemed those of us who have received Him as LORD and Saviour.
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so.
Amen.

Many believe that those who teach of The Father's Grace ommit to speak of the Wrath of God and if you don't speak of the Wrath of God you are cheating folks from knowing who God really is.
I agree with that.
But a true Grace teacher doesn't fail to ommit anything.

It's the teachers of everything else that have left things out and omitted and twisted God's Word.

We are going to talk about the Wrath of God today.


Because God is Holy, Righteous, Pure and True, He is totally opposed to sin in every form.
If He was to tolerate sin He would have to destroy Himself.
Because He has spoken and written in His Word that He is opposed to unrighteousness, because it brings death, meaning that it separates Him from His beloved creation.
God will not tolerate it.

God magnifies His Word above His own Name.
So this is why He sent His Word/ Son so that men could be put back in a place where we can fellowship with our Father and Creator.

Initially, God The Father established a way for men to come to Him and obtain righteousness with the blood of calves and bulls.
This was a shadow of things to come through His Son Jesus Christ and it began in the garden with the first man and woman.

When Father shed the blood of an animal and covered the first man and the woman, (the first to sin against Him) in the skin of that animal to hide their nakedness, He established what the atonement would be.

God knows and sees the end from the beginning and whatever the enemy meant for evil God will always have the upper hand and use it to His advantage.

We are going to look at why so many are not receiving this truth today.
Because men have made a shipwreck of God's gospel.

I want leaders to know that when they stand before the Father to give an answer that they will not stand before the Father with a group of men of renown reputation and wealth.
It will just be you all alone giving an answer, not an alliance.

You men who have made idols of men and call them mentors, Jesus said, ... call no man your father upon this earth: for one is your Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 23:9



So that said,
Let's look at an example in Numbers 16
God knows the end from the beginning and He laid it out so excellently in His Word.

Now Moses was a servant called of God to set the captives free.
God chose Moses to lead the children of Israel out of bondage into a land of milk and honey.

This is not going to be about all of the challenges and changes that Moses had to go through on his journey, it's just this one particular instance that The Lord is leading me to look at today.

So Moses has been instructed to give a message and direction to the people and a group of the people are refusing to hear the message and instruction.

Remember we spoke about reproof yesterday?
Correction and Instruction from God.
This is usually the reason God sent prophets to people was to either warn them that they were the problem (going in the wrong direction and to turn from it), deliver them by supplying a need or tell them of an event to come.

So at this time in history it's Korah and his men who are the problem, 250 of them.
The famous in the congregation, men of renown.
Not just the average group that no one knows but the local people.
These are the televangelists and the book sellers of their day who had a reputation that reached beyond their own backyard.

They had a meeting and said that they were going to come up against what Moses was doing.
So they gather together angry, in a huff allowing their pride to get the very best of them, and they basically ask Moses,
"Who are you to say that we must turn we are holy and have been doing the Lord's work, and The LORD is with us, so who are you and what authority do you have to speak to us?

They accused Moses of exalting himself and of being selfish.

When Moses heard it he fell on his face before the Lord, because he knew that God had told him to do what he was doing.

They didn't have to be coaxed into being ministers they enjoyed that, they enjoyed the attention and perks that they received for that.
These men needed to be taught to do what God instructed them to do.

So many believe that what they call "full time" ministry is obeying God when what they are doing is disobeying God on a "full time" schedule.

Moses told these folks God separated you so that you could do His will and work, not your own.
He brought you out to bring you to Him.

Like prayer is you drawing near to God and He draws near to you.
It's not you giving God permission to do anything.

So the famous men refused to hear Moses, so Moses says quickly gather the censers and put fire and incense in them and bring them before the Lord tomorrow as an atonement and an apology unto the LORD for what you are saying. (Parable of The Tenants)

They refused.
One of them even went on to just rail on Moses saying,
That it was Moses who brought them out of a land that already was flowing with milk and honey to kill them. And he hadn't made them any money since they left. (He was saying the grass was green where we were at.)

They said, 'Why would we change the way we teach if there is no profit for us in it.'
We have an established strategy that keeps us in the money, so we are not about to stop that and preach Grace.

They said 'We are the head and not the tail and we will not come up and do what you are saying.'

Long story short.
Moses said, so that you know that it was God and not me, you will not die a natural common death, but if the LORD make a new thing, and the earth opens up it's mouth, swallows them up, with all that appertain to them, and they go down quick into the pit: then you will understand that these men have provoked the LORD.

As soon as Moses was done speaking, the ground opened up and swallowed them up, their houses, all of their goods, and anything else connected to them.

There were still more left who were talking smack against Moses and blamed Moses for what happened, so these gathered against him.
God in His Wrath told Moses, Get up away from these that I may consume them in a moment.
The Father sent a plague to consume those folks.

Moses fell on his face before the Lord and said to Aaron run and go and take incense and a censer and put fire in it, and go quickly to those who you can save and make an atonement for them.

Aaron stood between the plague and the people offering up an atonement.
Aaron as a priest stood between fourteen thousand seven hundred dead and a multitude of the living and the plague was stopped from getting to the others.

Hear this.

Christ Jesus is that atonement for us.
He is that sweet smelling savour that stops the Wrath of God from swallowing men into the depths of the earth and holds back the plague of Wrath that is the wage of sin.

God refuses to strive with men, that is why He sent His Son.

A lesson from our LORD and Saviour:
Lay not up for your selves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

But if thy eye be evil ( not faithful in one, not faithful in all), thy whole body shall be full of darkness, how great is that darkness!

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other.

You cannot serve God and mammon.

Matthew 6:19-24

Alright
This has been taught as a way to manipulate men away from secular jobs into "full time" ministry.
This is why there are so many who have no business in the ministry.

Because instead of serving the people they are serving them selves at the peoples expense and they are not in Washington, they are standing in pulpits.

Now there are going to be a large number who will understand this and many will try and scramble and establish what they were supposed to establish in the beginning with God's tithes and offerings.

Those who preach that we shouldn't go to the government who we are required by law to pay taxes to.
Are the same who are not on the scene helping where the government lacks after they have collected God's taxes.

We established who the Master is.
The Master is Christ Jesus.
So men would either despise or put to the side teaching Jesus and teach something else.
What is the something else?

Verse 19 is the something else.
Laying up for your selves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust do corrupt, and where thieves do break through and steal.

So you go from teaching about the atonement to teaching about treasures that are available in this earth.

But the Word says, To seek ye first the Kingdom of God(The Way of Righteousness) and all of these things will be added unto you.

We don't seek The Kingdom only on Christmas, New Years and Resurrection Sunday.

Matthew 13:18, 19
The Master teaches, When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and understands it not, then cometh the wicked one and catches away that which was sown in the heart, This is he which received seed by the wayside.

The way of The Kingdom is The Way of Righteousness.
What is The Way of Righteousness?

Christ Jesus is.

His way of being and doing.
How did he do it?
Did He rob God?

God loves us and He is Gracious and merciful, this is why he sent His Son Jesus Christ.
