LISTEN TO HIM

THANK YOU FATHER.

Every high priest selected to represent men and women before God and offer sacrifices for their sins should be able to deal gently with the failings of those who they represent.

Do you know why?

Because every priest knows of his own failings.
The Bible says that the preacher knows what it is like to fail from his own experience.
The preacher knows what it's like when those who he is instructing will not listen because the preacher has not listened.
So when they offer up prayers and sacrifices for the people, they also offer up prayers and sacrifices for them selves.

The Word teaches that no one elects himself to this honored position neither are they elected by those who admire them. They are called by God, as Aaron was.

Aaron by popular demand supervised the construction of an idol god, not remembering what he had heard from The true and living God.

There is a distinct difference between those like Aaron and Christ Jesus.
Christ died rather than not hear, believe and follow God.

Neither did Christ presume to set Himself up as high priest, but was set apart by the One who said to Him, YOU ARE MY SON, TODAY I POSITION AND ORDAIN YOU.

While The Lord lived as a man in this earth He offered up prayers and supplications sweating drops of blood and crying out to the One who was able to save Him from death, and The Father listened to Him because He believed in, revered and listened to The Father.

How do we know that Christ listened to the Father?
Because the Bible teaches us that He prayed to The Father saying, Father, If thou be willing, remove this cup from me:nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

Evidently The Father answered Him and He listened because Christ did die, He was buried, He was resurrected by God and He now lives sitting at The right hand of the Father.

Although Christ is The only Begotten Son (born of The seed of The Holy Spirit and the womb of a virgin), He learned to have faith in God from the things that He suffered.
(That is a lesson all by itself.)

It's easy to believe that you will lead many to Christ if you believe that you will achieve it with the backing of men.
But babies you learn faith when you would rather stand for God than have an endorsement or a platform.

Christ allowed Himself to be mocked and called everything but a child of God.
Christ allowed Himself to be bruised and stricken and lied on.

Christ allowed Himself to be beaten to a bloody pulp, ashamed, nailed to a cross, and pierced through until death.

Why did He do all of that?
Love and...

The LORD allowed Himself to suffer because He had faith that God would vindicate Him and all of those who put their faith in Him and His shed blood would be vindicated as well.

Because he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him.
This is why we pray and why we listen to God as our LORD did.

That sin free blood of Jesus Christ was sacrificed to redeem us from the penalty that is death eternal in hell because of our sins.
This is how men are vindicated.

When the jailer asked Paul and Silas, "What must I do to be vindicated?"
They answered him saying, " Believe on the LORD Jesus Christ and you shall be vindicated, saved, delivered, protected, set free, you and your household."

The kingdom had come unto that man and preached the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Acts 16:30,31

And Christ having been made perfect became to all who place their faith in Him and all who obey Him the source of eternal salvation.

That word obey in Hebrews 5:9 is translated from the Greek meaning to listen, to hearken.
Of one who at the knock on the door comes to listen to who it is.
Strong's Concordance G5219

Jesus said, in the letter revealed to John The Revelator for the church at Laodicea.
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten be zealous therefore, and repent.

[The LORD corrects and instructs those whom He loves through illustration of His own deeds.]

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him and he with me.
Revelation 3:19,20

So Listen to Christ, hear His voice as it is preached that you should be careful what you hear.

The Lord has taught us what disobedience is in John 3:16,17,18

Jesus has always said, He that hath an ear to hear, let him hear what The Spirit says.

LISTEN TO HIM.

Hebrews 5

Love Y'all :)
