THANK YOU FATHER.
The Gospel of John.
Others testified of Jesus but not at His request because that testimony wouldn't have been valid.
Jesus didn't go around testifying that He was the greatest thing since king David, because there was one greater who testified of Him.
1John 5:5-12
The way that men judge a matter is usually out of the mouth of two or three witness's a matter is established.
That is the only way for man to judge a matter.
The only problem with that is when you have two witnesses that will lie to protect their position, you get religion.
Jesus said that He doesn't rely on the testimony of men because they judge to please them selves.
Christ is the just judge because He will not judge to please Himself but to please The Father who sent Him.
When you have God and The Holy Spirit both bearing witness of The Son we are talking a whole new ball game.
The LORD Jesus loved John yet Jesus said that He had no need of human testimony to satisfy the doubts of His accusers.
The LORD needed to mention John's testimony on behalf of those who would believe it that they might be saved.
That was for posterity.
John's testimony wasn't simply to save Jesus from the persecution that He would face by validating who Jesus was.
God had already said before witnesses, "This is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased."
John's testimony was for our benefit.
The LORD called John a lamp that burned and gave light and that many chose for a time to enjoy John's light.
Because all John did was preach and baptize, the accusers saw no harm in that.
It didn't stir up any waters with the religious to have a man making a claim of The Messiah's coming and having a few students.
The majority of the people were still subject to the doctrine that the religious men were versed in, nothing had cut into their credibility yet.
Then Jesus actually came with a far more weightier testimony than John's prophesy.
The LORD came and He didn't just come with words He came with power.
Jesus came and He told them that the very work that the Father had given Him to finish, and which He was doing, testifies that The Father had sent Him.
The LORD declared, "The Father who sent me has testified of me."
The LORD was showing these men who believed that they were authorities on God that they neither knew God, had never heard God, never been in the presence of God, and that the Word of God did not dwell in them because they did not believe the One that He had sent.
Christ Jesus told them that they diligently studied the scriptures because they thought by being able to quote them they had eternal life, saying things like no Messiah will come from Galilee.
Those very scriptures recorded there would be a child born and the Government will be upon His shoulders. Isaiah 9:6,7
The Christ child was born in the city of David.
Those very scriptures testified of Him, yet men wouldn't come to Him for eternal life, they wanted to rely on their law.
The LORD said to the religious men, I know that you do not have the love of God in your hearts. I have come in my Father's Name and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him.
How can you believe if all you accept is praise from one another, and seek not the honor that comes from God only?
Don't believe that I will accuse you before The Father, your accuser will be the law of Moses on whom your hopes are set.
What testimony is your hope set on today?
The testimony of men or God?
James 2:10
Romans 2:12,13
John 5:31-47
Don't believe what I say, believe what Jesus said.
His testimony is greater.
LOVE Y'ALL :)
