A TRUSTWORTHY STATEMENT

THANK YOU FATHER.

It is a trustworthy statement: if any man aspires to the office of overseer, it is a fine work he desires to do.
An overseer, then, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, prudent, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,
not addicted to wine or pugnacious, but gentle, uncontentious, free from the love of money.

He must be one who manages his own household well, keeping his children under control with all dignity
( but if a man doesn't know how to manage his own household, how will he take care of the church of God?); and not a new convert, lest he become conceited and fall into the condemnation incurred by the devil.

And he must have a good reputation with those outside the church, so that he may not fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

A good reputation with those outside of the church.

Wow.
That would mean not blaming the lost for being lost.

Being respected.
What do people respect?

They respect the courage of a leader who will say,
"It is true that I have not done all that I could do and I have not exhausted the ways and resources at my disposal to be more of a help, but today I repent of that and ask for the forgiveness of the people that I have let down and I commit to change what I do regardless of what others do, I take full responsibility for my lack of action and hope that my sincere apology is received.

That will be respected and that will draw men to move forward with you, anything else like saying, "The woman you gave me gave me the fruit and the serpent beguiled me and all that jazz is for the birds."

Respected won't simply spew out to other folks to be the change that they want to see in a fit of rage.
The context in which Gandhi used it was not in defense of him self and the condemnation of the people, it was to encourage them.

There is no woman who writes like I do and The Lord has shown me that I am the woman that is being the change that I want to see.
That I am the woman He sent to set the table.

That my contribution is in my shining the light of truth where people refuse to shine it.

People respect temperate and able to teach.

If you ever wonder why more people don't follow what they don't respect, it's because they have come to respect them selves.

Understand it.

LOVE Y'ALL :)

Ain't America grand?
It is for freedom.
