THANK YOU FATHER.
I believe the best way to know about a man or woman is to read the writings that they them selves have written.
I am not a fan of unauthorized biographies because you never know the true motive of the biographer.
Some will write and depict the most devious character as a saint and some will write and turn the most saintly man or woman into the most devious of character's.
I believe the best way to know a man whether living or dead is by learning of this person as told in his or her own words.
This is why I would rather read Abraham Lincolns own words in his speeches.
This is why I would rather read what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. wrote in his own words than listen to someone recite what he said.
This is why I would rather read Mother Theresa's words and Ralph Waldo Emerson or Martin Luther rather than purchase someone else's books or tapes that simply regurgitate, twist and try to make new something that has already been said.
This is why I love the gospels and the epistles of Paul.
Matthew, Mark, Luke and John especially, because their writing's have the journals of the Lord God within them.
The synoptic gospels as they are called are like a captains log of the journey and lives of these men who walked with our Saviour.
Any of you who keep a journal or a log of your own life understand this, because you can always go back and bring back to memory what a particular day was like, the times, the emotions and trace how you have changed, learned and grown with years, experience, mistakes and knowledge.
This is another reason why books are important as is art, music, film and audio recording's because these contain interviews and works that will always depict the heart of the men or women who created them giving us who study them a view and vision into their reasons for recording their experiences.
When we look at the words of Christ and His students as journals and captain's logs we will begin to see them for what they were.
Written for posterity, for our learning.
I just recently began to study the philosophy of Ayn Rand because this Russian born woman was so disturbed by the politics in her country in the early 1900's that she refused to love humanity.
She was selfish from childhood and resented the mere idea of helping anyone other than her self.
She was not a genius, she was disturbed and filled with fear because of the dictators of her time.
It is unfortunate that men like Hitler shaped the fear of her philosophy and her fear was one that ended up in the highest office of our land.
Capitalism.
Capitalism at it's core vehemently opposes the law and command of Christ.
So when you see those who embrace her self righteous thinking they cannot embrace the words of Christ.
Because you cannot serve God and this Pharisaical and hypocritical philosophy.
There is no eating the hay and spiting the sticks where Christ is concerned.
God calls men to love without looking for an immediate profit from it.
A little leaven in this understanding spoils the whole loaf.
E-coli in the meat is e-coli in the meat.
Study the words of Christ as written in the log and journal of Luke the physician and understand.
Luke 6:20-34
Journals and Diaries.
Love Y'all :)
