God the Father will forgive your enemies, so you might as well forgive them too.
NO LIMIT MERCY
WE ALL WANT IT BUT WE DON'T WANT TO GIVE IT.
You can forgive in your heart and not be mean.
You can forgive in your heart and not be in their presence.
The Word of the Lord came to Jonah...
Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because their wicked ways have risen in my presence an odor of death.
The preaching of the gospel is to save lives from destruction.
Jonah ran away from his assignment because he didn't like those folks anyway.
Jonah's heart said, let them die in their sins.
This story is more than a lesson on obedience to the assignment.
It's more than the time Jonah spent in the depths.
Jonah believed that he was better than the people in Nineveh.
How many people believe that they are too good to share God's truth with you but they welcome your money?
You know the story.
Jonah was tossed into the water and swallowed by a great fish.
He didn't drown to death or lose an arm or leg to a great white.
He was set in a place to reflect on the grace of God.
Jonah prayed to God from that place of reflection.
Jonah forgot for a second who the Father was but he regained his memory real quick when he was in a watery grave, yet alive.
God spared him even in his disobedience, like He has so many of us.
So many of us know we have ignored the grace of God with our lifestyle.
You have watched people around you die because of their choices, yet you haven't died yet, but you continue making the same choices.
Because you have been confused about mercy.
mercy is the bridge between faith and judgement
You might want to look up to God and acknowledge with your life that it's Him who has spared you, who brought your life out of a grave like He did Jonah's.
You might want to be the one to speak up and out proclaiming the message that is written in His Word and not the philosophy of comics.
People need to know that living in sin draws death, loss, and destruction to their door.
Living apart from what God told you to do like Jonah did.
You read the news papers and you shake your head at the tragedy and the job loss thinking that it all lays on the white collar or the white man and the white house.
It's dark blinded thinking.
It is the mind that has decided that God is something in a box that you take out for funerals, someone that you look to as a last resort when you have already made the decision to do things your way instead of His way.
Jonah did this and had the nerve to be angry that God would supply shade upon these people, but this is what God does for those who repent, He supplies His mercy and grace.
Jonah had forgotten it was exactly what God did for him.
The LORD asked Jonah, What right have you to be angry?
The Father taught Jonah a lesson with illustration.
Jonah went out to the east side of the city and set up camp, sitting in the shade expecting and waiting for wrath to come upon the city.
Those people repented from the least to the king at the message, so God repented and turned His wrath away from them.
Jonah sat in the shade and in the middle east it's hot in the shade.
So the LORD made a vine of shade to grow up over Jonah's head to ease his discomfort, and Jonah was happy as a clam about the vine because it refreshed him and cooled him off.
You know how we get all pompous instead of staying humble.
But at the crack of dawn the next day God provided a worm, which chomped that shady vine right on down.
When the sun came up the Lord sent with it a burning east wind so hot Jonah was about to pass out and wished he was dead.
God asked Jonah, "Do you have a right to be angry about the vine?"
Jonah answered, "I do, I am mad enough to die."
God said, Oh you mad about this vine that sprang up overnight that you didn't plant, water or make grow. It went just like it came.
Yet you have no concern for Nineveh where more than 129,000 people may die who don't know right from wrong because no one is willing to be an example to them?
They could have died because you refused to be their shade.
You want to fall out and die because of your temporary discomfort rather than rejoice at the saving of many?
God has provided shade for you and protection from the elements that could take you right off of this planet.
But you want to lie, cheat, steal and live in perversion and with a unforgiving malicious backbiting heart.
You have too much nerve for me.
THERE IS NO LIMIT TO THE MERCY OF GOD BUT YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE LIMITS OFF OF WHAT YOU ARE WILLING TO BELIEVE AND DO FOR GOD.
DEEP AIN'T IT?
NOT REALLY
MEDITATE JONAH
LOVE
People must know that a liar serves the devil and his purposes.
People must know that pornography perverts marriage and the minds of men and women about sex, that it leads adults to molest children and confuse them about sexuality.
God doesn't believe that the church folk are better than the world, the Father wants the church to share with the world that the same grace that rests on the church can rest on the world.
The world has to know and acknowledge with their living that grace comes from the LORD.
Jonah was delivered out of the pit for acknowledging God and accepting his assignment.
He went on to Nineveh and preached God's message.
The people of Nineveh repented from the least to the king.
They prayed and gave up every evil practice.
When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, He had compassion on them and halted His plan to bring destruction upon them.
The same mercy is available for all men who repent.
