QUIET ASSURANCE

" THE REST OF GOD"

I have been taught about entering into the rest of God and now I am going to teach about entering into the rest of God.

This lesson today is not merely for the congregant that is struggling with the call of God on their life.

This lesson is not only for the woman who is stressed about her husband and his habits.

This is not just about not worrying about provision and how will we make it this month.

This is not just for the brother who cries out "Lord, where are the normal women at!"

This is not just a lesson to encourage one who is suffering with an affliction in their body.

This is not only a lesson for the one who is frustrated because it looks like their dream will never come to pass based on everything that is going on around them.

This lesson is for the nation of Israel and anyone who needs to be reminded and refreshed to assert their faith against all opposition.

And today in faith we are going to actively put some things to rest in Jesus Name.

It happened that Jesus got into a boat with His disciples.
He said to them, "Let us go over to the other side of the lake."
And they launched out.
As they sailed Jesus went to sleep and as He slept a windstorm came down on the lake and filled the boat with water.

Well when a boat fills up with water in the natural it begins to sink.
It looked like they wouldn't make it to the other side of the lake, it seemed as though they would go under.
And it might look like you are about to go under if one more drop falls in your boat but I want you to be encouraged to day, right now.

Many are they that rise up against you, you may be surrounded on every side...
BUT
HOW DEEP IS YOUR FAITH IN GOD?

I'm talking to the established today.
The Rabbi, The Evangelist, The Pastor, Preacher, The Soldier, Teacher, Prophet and Missionary.

The disciples ran to Jesus and woke Him up and (LISTEN TO WHAT THEY SAID) saying, Master, master, we perish.
Was that the truth?

In the boat with the bread of life.
Dwelling with Him.
Lodged with Him.
Pitched a tent and set up camp with Him.
Walked with Him everywhere that He went.

Are you threatened by death or are you in the boat with the Saviour of the world?

The Messiah stood up and rebuked the wind and the raging water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.
The storm stopped, the wind stopped blowing, the raging waters stopped tossing and rolling.
There was peace.
THAT IS AUTHORITY
And that very same authority belongs to those In Christ Jesus by Faith.

He didn't take it to congress.
He didn't need to work up a plan, because He knew that he had been given authority. He also knew the end from the beginning.
You have the very same privilege of knowing the end from the beginning, you have the book.

The LORD stood up and spoke to the threat.
There was no bill to vote on.
The Father had passed the law long before that day when it was spoken and written in the scripture and it was enforced and fulfilled in that boat in that instant when Jesus stood up and opened His mouth.

What may I ask is written on your heart waiting to come out of your mouth that will fulfill God's plan and purpose for man?

The rest of God is a mindset.
It's thinking just like God thinks.
The mind of Christ is the mind of faith.
This is a dwelling place that's not strictly reserved for Sunday, Wednesday and speaking engagements.

This is where God lives and it has to be where we live, where we pitch our tent and walk when the boat is full of water and the storms are raging and when the sea is calm and quiet.
Psalm 124

The Father's thoughts are higher than our thoughts only because we won't come up to where His thinking is.
His ways are higher than our ways because we won't bring our ways up to where His ways are.

When we cease from our own works(what we believe we can do in our own power) then we have the ability to enter into the quiet assurance of God and speak to the wind and the wave (threat) and it will obey.
