Hebrews 3:12
Be careful, brothers and sisters, that you don't let an unbelieving heart lead you away from the living God.
If you know God you know to not believe in Him is sin.
If you have received Jesus as Lord but you don't believe what He says, you have let go of your confession.
This is what this encouragement is for so that you don't let your heart get hard like so many people do.
A hard heart towards God's word is a deceived heart.
A deceived heart is an unguarded and exposed heart.
God teaches us in His Word to guard our hearts with all diligence for out of it flows the seed of life.
The seed of life is the Word of God.
Your heart was formed to be filled up to the brim and overflowing with the love and faith of God, with things that produce life.
The heart of man was not made to be full of deceit, hatred, perversion and things that destroy lives and relationhips.
To not believe in what God did for every man by sending His only Son Jesus Christ, conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of a virgin, tortured to death on a cross, sent to hell in our place and then risen again for the remission of our sins, is a high risk.
And then you may be someone who believes all of those things, but you are stuck in unbelief where your healing or deliverance from danger or addiction is concerned.
This unbelief also exposes men to the very high risk of being destroyed.
Some might say, "What kind of God is that!"
The One and Only Merciful One.
Because it is not God who seeks to destroy but God who wants to save you.
The One who has sent the way to keep you.
I pray that everyone who hears God speak to them this day through these words will open their hearts and souls and receive the Father and His Will.
I pray that you choose to enter into the rest of God through Faith.
The "Rest Of God" is a mindset and a Kingdom.
The Rest Of God is where we want to be.
When we develop the mind of Christ by studying how He thinks and what He has already said, it helps us to enter into His Kingdom Rest.
This is not a place that leaning to our own understanding will get us to.
You don't arrive in the Kingdom Of God by riding your own philosophy.
And if you studied the blog yesterday you learned a little about who will enter into "The Rest Of God"
And when I talk about "the rest", I'm talking about a place of shalom, complete peace with nothing missing, broken or lacking.
Not only in the sweet by and by but right here right now, as well as eternal entrance into the Kingdom of heaven.
Some key factors to developing a heart to enter will be:
A. Hearing the voice of God which for us is basically the preaching, studying, praying and teaching of His Word with expectation.
B. Receiving what we hear as truth.
C. Diligently becoming intimately acquainted with God's ways.
D. Not departing from what we have heard and learned of God.
And I know by the spirit that some folks even some who profess Christ and promote that all of your good deeds will get you to heaven are thinking, "What makes Jesus so special?"
Trust that there is not a deed that you could do, no matter how good it made you feel that could match what the Saviour has done.
Let me share, because if He wasn't so special, trust me, you or I wouldn't have a chance.
Jesus is counted worthy because He was provoked and didn't step away from faith.
He never stepped over into unbelief which is sin.
He never stopped trusting what God said.
Moses was provoked and struck the rock, Moses stepped away from faith.
I HAVE BEEN TAUGHT ABOUT A SUM TOTAL AND I SEE THIS PATTERN THROUGHOUT HISTORY BEGINNING AT THE BEGINNING WITH THE FIRST MAN AND WOMAN AND ENDING IN THIS AGE.
UNBELIEF IS THE ONLY THING STANDING BETWEEN MEN, WOMEN AND THE REST OF GOD.
Study Hebrews chapters 3 and 4
I know when you think unbelief you think of all the lost and rebellious unbelievers.
But The Father is talking to His folk in these scriptures.
Hebrews 3:1 begins with: Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling...
Hey you in the pew with the incense and candles and tambourine's...
You in the collar and the prayer shawl...
We are the church of the living God if we hold fast our confidence, the quiet assurance firm until the end.
What did Jesus do?
The Saviour could have rolled over those soldiers and that whole counsel with legion upon legion of mighty angels and walked away from that persecution.
The Messiah could have denied that He was the King of the Jews.
Our LORD could have stopped them when they drove the crown of thorns into His skull.
The Son of God could have stopped them when they ripped the flesh from his body.
Jesus could have stopped them when they mocked Him and spat in His face.
The Christ could have stopped them when they pierced Him through.
His anointing could have stopped them when they stripped Him naked humiliating Him for all to see.
Our Master could have stopped them when they nailed is hands and feet into that cross with spikes.
Yeshua could have stepped down off of that cross at any time.
But He trusted God to deliver us to Him through His suffering in faith.
Jesus resisted unto death.
Jesus refused to step away from Faith for you and me.
The Lord didn't say " Why Me?"
But He stood firm in faith until it was finished.
Because He understood that the high risk of unbelief meant that you and I would be destroyed.
Jesus Christ is The High Priest Of Our Confession if We hold to it until the end.
