I LOVE YOU LORD!
Be like King David.
Whatever is going on in your life get you a piece of paper and write your own psalm.
I do this all the time.
Even if I sing it to the tune of a nursery rhyme.
To the tune of Mary Had A Little Lamb I'll sing:
The Father sent His Son to us
Son to us, Son to us
The Father sent His Son to us
His Name is Jeeeeesus.
Every where that Jesus went
Jesus went, Jesus went
Every where that Jesus went
The Word was sure to go.
If Jesus is living in you, every where that you go the Word should be sure to go.
PROVERBS 15:33b SAYS:
...before honor is humility
You know worshipping God is not just another title that can be put on our resume.
I know folks who have multiple titles behind their name and they do things just to get another association under their belt because it looks good on paper and it makes them feel like they have accomplished something to be on boards and charter members and the director of whatever.
They bite off more than they can chew and they usually neglect most of the things that they have attached them selves to just to ride that title.
Folks who love to have another charity behind their name because they think that it gives them importance, just in case they have that interview one day that will make them chairman or COO.
Working on a lifetime achievement award.
Lifetime achievement will be measured when the trump sounds.
I have sat and listened to the list of things that people have attached them selves to as they are introduced for some speech or another and it just literally makes me want to throw up sometimes, especially when I know the person and know they are full of something but it ain't a heart for others.
Seriously, not to take away from any mans accomplishments.
Don't even try and measure your importance by some letters that you have been gathering since cub scouts.
I'm not talking about taking away from a mans obedience, faithfulness and dedication to hard work.
I'm talking about heart motive.
Don't just get involved, be lead of God and make sure that your heart is right.
I'm talking about believing that these things make you of a higher and better standard than the next man.
Titles and accomplishments can make a man of little understanding haughty and lofty.
Lifted up in his heart.
I know how when I first started serving in the children's church some years ago and they gave me that shirt with a badge you couldn't tell me nothing.
My head grew to the size of a watermelon and i thought anybody who wasn't doing what I was doing was just beneath me.
If you hadn't signed up to do something I just thought you were stupid.
But now I know that there is a season and a time of seasoning, everybody doesn't belong in the ministry of helps as soon as they come in.
They should sit under the Word for two years before they step up, so that they are mature and their motives are straight.
Like in my profession we always have some new dude with credentials who basically his whole life's breath consists of being popular and letting folks know where he studied at and believing that now there is no more to learn because basically
"I am the hot commodity."
They always think that they are the only one that Henry Ford searched high and low to recruit.
Yeah right, you the only one baby.
At all costs they usually want to be liked by the people who they work with and to fit in.
Well Lolita what's wrong with being liked and fitting in?
Nothing is wrong with it unless you are willing to compromise truth and be a complete butt head in order to be accepted.
Have a standard in Jesus Name.
I don't care what you ran in some other state or who taught you or whose documents you carried if you are a total donkey.
If what you are saying is not right or lining up with the word of God or the standards set here, be quiet.
Even fools with experience and titles speak with no restraint and I know this from personal foolish experience my self, credentials don't wash away the dumb.
Self examination and humility do.
Take them credentials and that resume and get some wisdom.
And demand a humble introduction.
The Word Of God says that the haughty shall be humbled.
Usually your gift speaks for it self, you ain't got to broadcast it.
Write your own Psalm to God, because when folks get to pumping you up it will keep you on the ground to pump the source of your gift and intelligence up.
King David talked about the glory of God not his own glory.
How great the Lord is and everything that He had done for him.
In your own words write an introduction of who the Father is to you.
Not comically.
Seriously.
Don't say what David said, say what you know God has accomplished in and through you.
Write your own psalm to the Father.
Be clothed in humility: for God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble.
humble your selves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that HE may exalt you in due time.
There is no time that we don't need the favour of God to be present in our lives.
Not a second, minute, hour or day that we can be without the favour of God.
So acknowledge God in everything that you do.
Speaking to the thinking.
