GET WISDOM

How do we stop making dumb decisions?

Because it's easy to just tell someone to stop doing stupid stuff.

I could tell you it's dumb to sleep with men who are not your husband, it sounds profound to many but how does a woman arrive at the place where she actually does this?

I could say that it's stupid for a man to be driving an SUV that he didn't even have credit enough to get in his own name, he's going on that cruise and he knows his insurance and light bill are overdue, yet he's decided to live above his means and go to Macy's for that 12 hour sale and then want God to bless his backwards decisions with a miracle.

God didn't get him to that place, he did.
God will get him out once he decides to do things God's way.

I could say it's just down right dumb to think that if we don't obey the command of God that we will receive the benefits of God.

So how does a man or wo-man come to the point of arrival.

By getting wisdom.
The Bible says that wisdom is the principle thing.
The Word Of God also says, In all your getting, get understanding.

So in all of the things that we have gathered, money, fame, fans, a reputation, if we ain't gathered the wisdom of God, we ain't got nothing.
Ain't, Ain't, Ain't!
Got nothing without God's instruction!
That rhymes.

The Bible teaches us that:
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom...

That is just the beginning.
You know there is a God and that He created all things.
You know there is a God and that He loves you.
You know there is a God but stuff doesn't just happen.
You know there is a God and He should be honored and revered.

The demons know that God exists and tremble but they ain't following what He said either.
Don't twist God's Sovereignty.

Knowing that God is, is the beginning of wisdom.
Hebrews 11:6 teaches us this.
Because without this it is impossible to even approach or please Him.

Knowing that God is is still only the start.

Psalm 111:10
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom:
a good understanding have all they that do His commandments:
His praise endureth forever.

Amen

Look at that second portion.
A good understanding have all they that do His commandments.
Faith is doing.

You don't believe God until you do what He says.
No man believes God until he does what God said to do.

We don't believe God and you living like the devil.
We don't believe God and walk in envy and hatred.

Believing God for a mate and hating on folks, that don't mix.
Believing God for miracles and lying on folks, that don't flow.

An understanding of God's Will is wisdom and by this wisdom is how we begin to renew our mind from the old way of thinking.
The way we thought before we made Jesus Christ our LORD.
We can't handle haters with an indignant attitude anymore like we used to do.

We have to immediately turn it over to God.
There is a joker who believes that they are going to be the one to break me down and I know it but I ain't hating, I done turned this fool over to God knowing that God will lift this nut up and move them to Alaska if He has to.
See once we start to get into agreement with the Word of God it shows us how to live.

I am going to repeat Romans 12:1,2 as if I wrote it to you this morning.

So I am seriously saying to all of you who are disciples of Christ, I am not merely talking to folks who attend church.
The mercy of God is in Him getting this Word to us so that we understand that we truly worship God by offering our own bodies up as living sacrifices, holy, undefiled through His cleansing and keeping it that way.

This means that we don't get drunk, we don't over eat, we don't have sex outside of marriage, we don't curse, we don't lie, cheat or steal.
Our bodies , hearts and minds are the temple of the living God. God and His Spirit dwell in the born again believer.
It is our reasonable service to keep this house clean if we truly believe that Jesus died on that cross at Calvary and carried our sins for us.

When I say keep the house clean I mean the temple.
We have to sweep it out of all those things that dishonor our LORD.

We are no longer lost in the world system living the way the devil would have us to live, we have ceased and turned from that for good, that is what repentance is.

Repentance is not just something we repeated in church, it's and actual way to live.
And confession of sins is not a license to continue in sin.
We don't have the same opinion as the carnal man does.

The carnal mind asks, "Where does it say that I can't do this in the bible?"
It says it wherever God says to follow my command.
If it ain't one of His commands that is where it is written.

The beginning of making good decisions is transforming the way we think by the Word Of God.
Then the things that are God's perfect Will are made clear to us.
You won't find God's will in some shady so called prophet's mouth.

God's Will is His Word.
That is the top and the bottom line and the beginning of making good decisions.
