CONTINUE

...His lord said unto him, Well done, you good and faithful servant: you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you manager over many things: enter into the joy of your lord.
Matthew 25:21

That was Jesus teaching the parable of the good steward.

This man had managed someone elses business properly and with care and yielded a profit for his boss.
Most folks have trouble managing their own affairs properly let alone trying to manage someone else's.

How does a man or woman become faithful?

They make being faithful a habit.

I was filling out a survey yesterday that asked me how much I weighed when I was 18 years old.
I am so laughing out loud right now!
Because the survey is trying to gather information about me while it shows me my problem.

This survey asked, Are you as active now as I was when you were 18?
Double heck NO!

I am no longer faithful to the routine that I kept at that age.
I don't swim anymore, I would walk miles at a time.
Those habits have long gathered dust.
So the result has been over 100 lbs of extra fat on my back.
Why?

Because I stopped doing what was necessary to maintain.

To continue means to maintain without interruption.

It used to be customary for me to get up and walk everywhere I needed to be.
On a regular basis I would swim.
Regular exercise was my practice then like prayer and Bible study is now.
I was determined to adhere to that plan.

In order to reign in life right now and with Jesus in the time to come I am going to have to endure until the end.
And in order to reign in my body I am going to have to do the same thing.

The apostle Paul wrote to his son in the faith Timothy in 2 Timothy 3:14-17 saying:
14... continue in the things that you have learned and have been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;

15 And that from a child you have known the holy scriptures, which are able to make you wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness;

17 That the man of God may be perfect(mature) thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Paul said a mouthful in that paragraph.

As a newborn child of God it is important to get into the scriptures and stay there.
Just like it's important for me to get into living a healthly lifestyle of eating right, exercising and stay there.
It is important to fellowship with people who do the things that you desire to accomplish, so that they can help you mature to the point that you are not robbed, devoured and lacking in your health, mind, spirit and finances.

The scripture is what makes a man thoroughly furnished because it has the instruction of God in it.
God will show you how to get out of debt.
God will show you how to lose weight.
God will show you how to mend a relationship.
God will show you how to get that job.
God will show you how to spend your money.

When we first make it a habit to hear from God, learn, and then steadfastly remain in His instruction by doing it, we succeed.

Jesus said in John 15:7
If you abide in Me and my Words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you.

If God's word is what is firmly fixed in our hearts and we are determined to adhere to what God has established as true and righteous, there is nothing that will be impossible for us.

A heart that is faithfully fixed and trusting in the Lord is a heart that continues in His word.

Continued means that even after there was an interruption we repented, picked up our cross, put on our armour and resumed our practice, God makes us able.

Make it a habit today to continue night and day in the things of the LORD and you will have success.
Be determined to stay loyal to God.
Steadfast in the Faith.
Love Y'all
