I am not usually impressed with many people or things.
When I say that I mean not many people or things have left a mark on my life.
I'm not talking about the tragedies that left a scar on my life because Jesus healed all of those.
Given me beauty for ashes.
I'm talking about traits of character that influenced me to be a woman of God.
I am never impressed by someones wardrobe, I will definitely complement you if you look good.
I have to tell you when you look good.
I'm not impressed with hair styles but if your is looking tight then I am going to say, Girl that's pretty.
Not impressed with who your spouse is or where you live but if your home is lovely I will let you know.
Not impressed with folks titles and fame but if you are doing a good work, I will let you know that you are.
Not impressed with levels of education, skin complexion, waist size, muscle build, status of wealth or who your circle of friends are.
What impresses me is your self esteem being solid on the rock to the point that you walk after the anointing and not the flesh.
Folks who do not take things personally and meditate on them for weeks at a time.
Those who can forgive and walk in love.
Oh my goodness and anyone who can make up their own mind and stand for what is right against the haters, I am so impressed by you!
I know a couple of people whose esteem is in tact and it only gets this way through knowing who you are In Christ.
These people leave such a mark on me when I am in their presence for as little as 10 minutes.
They are so comfortable in who they are if you insulted them to their face they would smile at you and offer you something to eat.
They don't feel left out and all in a ball of mess, their mind is not so twisted as to think that you are talking about them.
They don't hold grudges.
They wouldn't go on to indirectly make comments about you.
I sat and listened to a woman once who was doing my hair and she was so self conscious but she didn't know it.
She made nasty comments about everyone who came into the salon under her breath, her mind was so programmed at criticizing folks she forgot that I could hear her and she criticized me while I was in her chair.
She was so insecure in her self and so competitive it was sad to see her pick out and pull out every flaw of every woman in her eyesight.
I burst out laughing like girl you need Jesus because I am secure In Him.
Think about what an impression is, it's an imprint the effect that we have on others.
it can be powerful and used for the good or it can destroy their confidence.
An impression is an image that is formed by or as if by pressure.
What is pressing on the minds of people?
Have you said anything that is laying on the minds of folks?
Was it something that would lead them to healing or to hurt?
If it's the Word Of God that's the seal that will be left with folks when you depart from them.
The Word accomplishes always, it leaves an imprint.
Bitter just creates more bitter.
We have all heard it said that hurting people hurt people.
If you are making nasty comments about people, check your self and ask your self why you do that.
In Jesus we don't have to hold on to hurt and we don't have to be bitter about what we don't have in the natural.
We can cast that away and then what we desire will be opened up to us.
Bitter is not the road to blessings.
What is the mark that we are leaving on others folks lives when we depart from them?
I'm just asking because this is what impresses me in folks, how they loved.
Jesus left an imprint which was an example to those first men that He walked among, they wrote it down and made it plain that we who read it might run with the same attitude.
1 Corinthians 13:1-8
I am so impressed with His way of doing things.
Think on it today.
Love Y'all
