SACRIFICE

Praise be to God and the Father of our LORD Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly and earthly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ Jesus!

For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love He predestined us to be adopted as His sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and Will- to the praise of His glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One He loves.
Amen


What if we all had to continually bring an unblemished lamb to an altar to be slaughtered for our sins?
Because there is a wage to be paid for sin and the high price of sin is death.

What if each family in the earth in 2010 had to sacrifice daily an animal by the shedding of it's blood as the atonement for our sins and as worship to God?

How could every family continually do that?
There wouldn't be enough lambs or unblemished animals to cover all of us.

We would all have to come to the point of raising our own animals just to cover our families.
Most of us would turn to the government to give us our lambs and then they would increase the taxes of everyone else to cover the sacrifice of those who couldn't raise their own.

How could an economy that isn't able to keep schools open be able to keep the flow of cattle needed to maintain righteousness?

They mass produce now for a buck but God requires a spotless lamb not a lamb on steroids.

There was a time when the blood of an animal was the sacrificial requirement and mandate from God that paid the debt for man's sin.
But God changed all of that and made it easier for men to return to the place of right standing with Him.

He sent His Son.

Many religions still practice sacrificial worship to God.
Some have chosen methods that are not painful and some have chosen more painful methods.
None understanding that neither is required of God through Jesus Christ.

God requires obedience and not sacrifice.

Thank God that we don't have to but a spear through any of our body parts, or shave anything or cut anything or bruise anything or nail anything on our person as a sacrificial point of worship.
We don't have to beat the flesh off of our own backs as a sign of obedience.

Because Jesus did those things for us.
Thank You Lord Jesus.

We can't make atonement or save our selves from the death that sin brings.
We can't do it no matter how tolerant we are of other people.
We can't do it no matter what position we hold in life.

Our education doesn't wash away the sin.
Our humility doesn't wash away the sin.
Our own charity doesn't wash away the sin.

Forgiveness of sin is not in any act that we can brag on in our selves or in our own ability.

There was one spotless Lamb that was slain that has covered all of man's nakedness.
Jesus Christ is His Name.
There is no other Name by which any man can be saved.

Oh how I thank God for Jesus and how He got up on that cross for me.
Oh how I love Jesus because He didn't stay up on that cross.
Oh how I love the Lord and the Father for the shed blood of Christ.
Oh how I love Jesus for being laid in a grave for me.
Oh how I love Jesus for not staying in that tomb!

In Him we have redemption, through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.
And He made known to us the mystery of His Will according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times will have reached there fulfillment- to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ.
Ephesians 1:7-10 (NIV)

The Father and Creator of heaven and earth has shown us His Will in His Word.
It says that whosoever shall call on the Name of Jesus shall be saved.

Aren't you glad that God made it this easy?
Aren't you glad that it isn't by your own power or ability?
Aren't you glad that you don't have to tear the flesh from your own body and bleed out?

The sacrifice was given for you and for me, Christ took our place.
