I will revere that He is God who made heaven and earth and I will not be used of the enemy this day.
Today I will Uphold The Word of God.
Galatians 6:1
Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, you which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest you also be tempted.
If we look at Galatians 6 it teaches us that we have been given a duty to restore one another.
This means when you see another preacher or saint of God going off the path with doctrine, in a spirit of gentleness examining your motive and your work with the Word you help lead him back.
Now any man who claims to be of God who will not receive with meekness what is given in meekness, from such turn away.
As a minister of the gospel our duty is to restore the lost.
Sometimes we look at that scripture and we whip it out on folks saying, "Who are you to judge people, are you the judge and jury?"
No, I am the one who will help your case.
Because we all will stand in front of THE JUDGE one day.
Brothers and sisters if anybody is caught in any trespass ( sin against God), you who have been taught the Word are to restore them in a spirit of meekness.
I talked about what deception was yesterday and how it is forgetting or never knowing from where you came or how you were formed to be.
The word restore means to take it back to it's original form.
That's what renew means.
Listen this morning.
The Apostle Paul said, While we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are the household of faith.
What was Paul talking about?
He was talking about us restoring folks.
Paul was talking about sowing the Word.
Whenever you talk about restoring something back to it's original state what do you have to do to it first?
You have to strip off all of the old.
Renew.
We all have family members or friends who live in the world separate from God because they don't know what they were created to be.
I my self have loved and lost folks to death who lived and died as homosexuals, criminals, addicts and many other things.
Don't let the opportunity to lead them away from hell slip through your hands for fear of being labeled judgmental or anything else.
People don't walk away from the truth because they feel judged, people walk away from the truth because they don't want to face it.
We want to put our hands over our ears when a light is shined on our sin through the preaching of the gospel not knowing that the Word is the key to everything that our real man desires.
The Spirit man that God created us to be.
This is why people get high and drunk because they don't want to face reality, they want to block it out, but God didn't make us to be inebriated.
In Christ you have been made righteous and called to be a light in a dark world.
Our mouth is supposed to speak with the wisdom of God and talk of His judgment.
Psalm 37:30,31 says:
30 The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.
31 The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.
The Bible teaches us that in the last days there would be perilous times and there would also be many who will come claiming to be In Christ and would deceive many.
I call them "shape shifters".
They will withhold the gospel.
Jesus said in John 10:1
Truly, truly, I say to you, He who doesn't come in by the door into the sheepfold, but climbs up some other way, is a thief and a robber.
If we don't come to God by His Word we don't get in.
Jesus and the Word are One. John 1:1-14; Hebrews 11:6
A "shape shifter" is ashamed of the gospel/the Word Of God.
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. Do you know why the "shape shifter" is ashamed of the gospel?
Do you know why they would rather make their own righteousness up or side with sin?
Because the Word of God is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.
The Word is The Power and they don't believe it.
The Word is The Power to save everyone who believes it.
The Word is the Power of God to raise the dead and to change every circumstance.
The Apostle Paul was eager to preach the gospel not so he could be popular or liked or given a title by men.
Paul was eager to see men's shackles taken off of their neck.
Burden's removed and yokes destroyed and men restored to their rightful place with God.
The sower sows the Word and he who sows sparingly shall also reap sparingly.
Know that God is not mocked; for whatsoever a man sows, this he will also reap.
For the one who sows to his own flesh ( because you didn't want to ruffle feathers and tell them folk what God said) will from the flesh reap corruption.
This is what Galatians 6:1 is talking about when it teaches us to consider what we are doing lest we be tempted.
Lest we be tempted to draw back from the truth of the Word which is the Power to restore.
Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.
We think the Lord is talking about being tired physically.
The Word said don't lose heart in doing good.
What is good?
Preaching the gospel to everybody.
That's it.
It's ungodly to not do this.
See this is why I say ungodly goes to churches and they pastor them too.
Look at what Romans 1:18-20 says about these type of folks.
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
(Who suppress the truth)
Suppress means to keep secret, to subdue.
We are not in a country that stops or prohibits the publication of revelation.
It's not the world who is keeping the secret, they don't know.
It's us who are keeping it shut up and on the down low.
You don't want to tell them people on your job what God said.
It's the Christian that won't share the gospel with their brother who is running towards death.
19 because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.
(Hold it right there)
Who knows more than the average bear but somebody who has Bishop, Pastor, Reverend, Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Teacher and Christian on the front of their name?
The Bible says that not many should teach because guess who will be judged by a higher standard than every body else?
You got it!
Ignorant is having no information.
Foolish is having information and disregarding it.
Romans 1:20,21
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
Who is without excuse?
Everyone who claims to know that God is God!
21 For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Futile- occupied with trifles and frivolous things(TV shows and other garbage), completely ineffective, useless
Fruitless= producing no result
Weak= no power to resist the devil
For example: The resistance proved to be so futile that surrender was the only choice left.
Became so weak spiritually that whatever doctrine is presented they received it even when it had nothing to whatsoever to do with God.
Their thinking became twisted.
As a man thinks that he was born gay so he goes.
The shape shifter done come in and led you captive saying something that resembled the word but ain't the Word.
James said that men are drawn away based on what they have been meditating on.
If we are meditating the Word day and night and not fantasizing about being with some person who isn't our spouse, guess what?
When the enemy brings that opportunity to sin our way (and he will, that's his job), we will follow what we have been thinking on.
That is why Timothy tells us to Preach The Word when people, family, friends, co-workers, strangers, enemies, when whoever thinks it's popular and when they don't.
He said to reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and stick to what God said.
For the time will come and has come when men will refuse to hear sound teaching from God.
But after their own lusts they shall find somebody who will say what they want to hear.
And they will turn away their ears from the truth, and be turned to fables.
This means that they would be led away willingly from God.
We are the light of the World.
The salt of the earth.
If we lose our savour what are we good for?
Hold up the Word.
Father,
I thank you that we are not ashamed of the gospel because it is the Power that saves and restores men to their rightful place in Your kingdom.
