GLORY ONLY IN HIM

But God forbid that I should glory, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

Why are scriptures like this in the Bible?


To be rightly divided within the context of the entire letter.
To save us.
To empower us.
To remind us that it is by the blood covenant of Jesus Christ that we are blessed and by no other means.
Because they are sufficient.

May it never be that we boast in anything but the cross.

Luke 18
Jesus told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and viewed others with contempt:

Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector [ no one likes a tax collector] (because they are coming to collect for the government)

The Pharisee stood and was praying this to himself: GOD I THANK YOU THAT I AM NOT LIKE OTHER PEOPLE: SWINDLERS, UNJUST, ADULTERERS, OR EVEN LIKE THIS TAX COLLECTOR. (not popular)

I FAST TWICE A WEEK; I PAY TITHES OF ALL THAT I GET.

I HAVE BEEN OBEDIENT! LOOK WHAT I DID!

Did you know that if you haven't been obedient in every area that you haven't been obedient in any area?

But the tax collector, standing some distance away, was even unwilling to lift his eyes up, but was beating his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me, the sinner.

I tell you, this man went to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.

So today the message is not for anyone who believes that they already have it made in the shade with lemonade.

This is for you who are uncertain about whether there is a God and if He cares about you.
God does care about you.
You may have heard all sorts of things about God, like you have to earn His love through deeds and that the more you do the greater your stance will be with Him.

I don't want to persuade you to do anything because if I persuade you to go one way, you can be persuaded another way.

I want to proclaim Christ as the complete and total answer to everything that is ailing you or disturbing you or slowing you down, holding you back, or keeping you in fear.

Faith is a spiritual gift of God, and Christ is received not in the mere intellect of men but in the heart and the spirit of man.
I can't chess match you into eternal life.

I pray for you to set apart your heart to Christ.

Since the time that John The Baptist began to preach the coming of Jesus Christ people have been opposed to it.
There will always be those who are going to be indifferent, skeptical, hostile and just down right hate and disagree with the preaching of Christ Jesus.

Because there is an adversary to God.
There is a spirit of Antichrist in this world.

Jesus told us that because they hated Him, they would hate us also.
John 15:18; Luke 6:21-23; Luke 16:1-4

But because they hate us is no reason to rearrange the gospel.
The gospel which is Christ crucified and His blood washing away everything that could keep us from God is the Word that awakens the need in every man to come to Christ.

The Lord prayed for those who belong to Him.
John 17:8,10,14-18
I pray today that whosoever reads this blog purpose to receive and or preach Christ crucified ad being the abundant life.

The Blessing is in the blood.
When you come to Christ He strips the garment of sin off of your back and He clothes you in His righteousness.

He intercedes for you with the Sword of His mouth.

He was pierced through and shed blood to be in covenant with you.

That blood cleanses you of all unrighteousness and impurities.

He gives you His Name.

He crowns you with His glory and loving kindness.

He surrounds you with the hedge of His goodness, mercy and power and nothing can prevail against you.
