HAVE YOU CHANGED YOUR CLOTHES?

GLORY TO GOD FOR HIS SON AND FOR THE GREAT LOVE IN WHICH HE LOVED US.

Did you change your clothes this morning?

Did you take off your pajamas get in the shower, wash, get out dry off, lotion up, deodorant, powder, perfume and all that jazz?

Then put on fresh clean underwear, clean, pressed pants and shirt, clean socks, polished shoes?

I hope so.

I pray that you aren't walking around in the same clothes that you had on last week unbathed, un shaven, unwashed.
Soiled and smelly.

Why do we rise up and wash and change into fresh clothes everyday?

Because everyday is a new day and if we don't go into everyday like it is a fresh new blessing from God we will get stuck stinking.

Colossians 3 The Apostle Paul wrote to the Colossians telling them to put on the New Man.

The New Man is Christ.

The old man was the man who through lack of faith in Christ allowed his mind to wander.
The old man meditated on every negative report, opinion, news cast, unfavorable situation, trial and emotion.

The old man was the child of (disobedience/ unbelief).
This old man dressed in fornication, uncleanness, calamity, evil schemes, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
The old man made a god out of the things that he wanted.
The old man walked in anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, lies and filthy communication.
He was a dirty old man.

But then Christ came and the dirty man exchanged those dirty clothes for a bath, a cleansing, a washing and put on the New Man.

The New Man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him that created him:
Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: But Christ is all, and in all.

So as the chosen of God what are we wearing?
1Peter 4:17 asks the question:
For the time has come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end of them that obey not (believe not/ are opposed to the Divine Will of God) the gospel of God?

We say that we believe it and that we obey it so we can't give the excuse that there is no perfect church anymore.
Because the church that has put on the New Man is the mature church.

Put on therefore you chosen people holy and beloved bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any:
even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

And let (allow) the peace of God to rule( mount guard/reign) in your hearts, to the which you are also called in one body; and be ye thankful.

We do all of these things that appear to be spiritual but we haven't changed our clothes.

Jesus took all of that mess off of us and He gave us His robe of righteousness but we keep taking Him off and putting the old man on.
Philippians 3:13-21; 4:5-8

Set your affection on the things that are above.

Lord we thank You for Your Spirit, Your Son and for Your preserving power.
We thank You for the mercy and grace that is Your Word.
In Jesus Name

So Be It

Put it on..

Love Y'all
