The Lord said,
The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.
Luke 6:45 (NIV)
What did you have for dinner last night?
If we eat garlic, onions or sardines, that's what we will breathe out.
If we inhale tobacco from cigarettes that's what we will be breathing out.
If we eat chocolate and peppermints that will be what we breathe out.
Whatever we consume or take in is what comes out, one way or the other.
Jesus said, "Take eat, this is my body..."
Our cup can be running over with many things but as sons and daughters of God we want our cup to be overflowing with the life, truth, light and glory of God.
Amen.
Jesus said,
"Listen and understand. What goes into a man's mouth does not make him unclean, but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him unclean."
The reason that the Lord said this was because His disciples had been chastised by the Pharisees about breaking tradition when they didn't wash their hands before they sat to eat.
Today in our time it is a wise and sanitary thing to do to wash our hands before we eat, but Jesus shed light on how the Pharisees concentrated on the tradition more than the truth.
How they failed to look at the more important and weightier matters.
Breaking the command of God in order to hold to their tradition.
Removing the effect of the word in their lives.
The Lord reminded them that it was written and spoken by the prophet Isaiah that these type of men would exist.
Those who honor the Lord with their lips,
but their hearts being far from Him.
They worship God in vain;
because their teachings are but rules taught by men.
I pray that we understand the importance of staying in the presence of the Father by relating to Him daily, continually through His Word.
This keeps our hearts near to Him and prevents evil and malicious thoughts from taking root.
It's not what goes in that defiles us, it's what comes out.
Our spiritual diet is more important than your natural intake of food.
Our concern can be about pesticides, hormones, steroids, inorganic additives in chicken, beef, produce and mercury in fish.
Yet the things that we take into our souls are far more deadly than processed food.
Television, Radio, Internet, Friends, Family , Co Workers, twisted doctrine.
Guard your heart, eye gate, ear gate.
Proverbs 4:23
Once it goes in it produces a belief and then the belief spoken out is the seed sown.
We reap what we sow in word and in deed.
Everything is not a curse, it is a result of seed sown.
The Lord says that we will all have to give an account on the day of judgment for every careless word that we have spoken.
For by our words we will be acquitted and by our words we will be condemned.
Consider these scriptures today.
Proverbs 27:19; Matthew 12:36,37
Matthew 15:1-20
Love Y'all
For real :)
