The Bible teaches us that there is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.
Proverbs 16:25

How can we know the sure way to do anything?

By looking to The One who made everything.

Not by looking to me or to anyone else but by looking to the One who framed the worlds by the word of His mouth.

I've heard many men use the analogy of how bank tellers or money handlers are trained to identify counterfeit currency.

I can relate to it because of the field that I am trained in.
In Neurodiagnostics we learned how to identify what a pseudo(non)seizure looks like by first learning what the real seizure looks like through reading the brain wave activity.

A patient is never diagnosed with Epilepsy simply because they fell down and started to shake and roll their eyes up in their head.
Some of these spells are psychological and not physiological.

So in order to distinguish between the two, we were trained to not only protect the patient during an episode but to read an Electroencephalograph, recognizing true seizure patterns.

As children of God we must have the same attitude where our belief in God is concerned.
We must be able to distinguish the Gospel of Jesus Christ from the gospel of men.
Because there is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it will lead to death.

The only way to know if we are following Christ or the leading and guiding of a man's interpretation is to know Christ more than that man's interpretation.

Jesus said,
Enter through the narrow gate because wide and broad is the road that leads to destruction.

He warned us to watch out for false prophets who come to us in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.

He teaches us that not everyone who says to Him, "LORD, LORD" will enter into the kingdom of heaven, but only those who do the Will of His Father who is in heaven.

The LORD said, Many will say to me on that day, " LORD didn't we prophesy in Your Name (Authority), and in Your Name drive out demons, and perform many miracles?"

Then I will tell them plainly, " I never knew you, Away from Me, you workers of iniquity!"

Because it's not what you do, it's how you do it.

The Lord Jesus taught us saying,
You have heard that it was said to people long ago, "Do not murder
(kill the innocent), and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.

But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment.

The Lord said,
You have heard it said, Do not commit adultery, But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Why would the LORD have to teach these things?
To show men that they will never be made righteous in their own abilty.

Nothing but the blood of Jesus is able to deal with the thoughts of a man's heart.

The LORD said,
It has been said, Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.
But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery.

The Lord did this so that no man could bring a charge to another man for his choices, because apart from Christ none is righteous.
The best choice that any human being has ever made was to come to Christ.

Again, the LORD said, You heard it said to the people long ago, Do not break your oath, but keep the oaths that you have made to the Lord.
But I tell Do not swear at all: either by heaven, for it is God's throne or by the earth for it is His footstool or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King.

Men will get you to sign and swear to something because it is binding and they want you to be beholdong to them.

(Don't sign anything to bind you, simply tell folks yes I can or no I can not.)
If you can, do it, and if you can't let it be known up front.
That will eliminate debt.
That will keep you from owing any man anything but love.

This is a lesson learned hard by me, but I got it.

There are many things that we can't afford and not all of them are material, some relationship's come at a high cost.
Christ has redeemed us from the high cost of living.

Christ said this, "You have heard that it was said, Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth. But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the left cheek, turn to him the other also...
Give to those who ask and don't turn away from those who wish to borrow.

The Lord said, You have heard that it was said to love your neighbors and hate your enemies. But I tell you to love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven.

Jesus Prayed for those who put Him on the cross, saying, "Father forgive them for they know not what they do."

They know not.

The Lord taught us how righteousness is lived out practically in teachings in Matthew 6.
He said, Be careful not to do your acts of righteousness before men to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

So we have heard that when we sin after salvation that is how we will have no reward in heaven.
That can't be true if we have an advocate in Christ.

See when folks preach about losing a reward in heaven, Jesus teaches us how that is done by trying to impress people and being impressed with our own achievements.
It's not some man's theory that we have to go buy, we go buy what the Saviour has established in His Word.

How can you do that if you don't know Him?

Jesus taught us And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men.

I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full.
But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen.
Then your Father who sees what is done in secret, will reward you openly.

Our Saviour goes on to teach us further the principles and practices of righteousness in Matthew chapters 6 and 7.

Brothers and Sisters

Don't be the one who the LORD has to say He never knew you.
Don't be the one who The Lord says, Depart from ME.

It's not what you do, it's how you do it.
Do it the Lord's way.
