THE APPEAL

THANK YOU FATHER.
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field...
It is so clear.
Be stable, Be sober, Be alert.

I always go back and look at Eve in Genesis 3 as an example of what not to do.

History is important so that we don't repeat the horrors of it.
Pharaoh probably would have liked to erase from his memory and history the plagues that his pride and arrogance called down on his people.
But it's written for our learning.
Amen.

The past is recorded for a reason.
History shows that the devil appealed to what Eve perceived she was lacking.
Any since of lack will produce a since of lust, greed and pride and these things will always cause a man to disobey God.

If you lack hope you will do things that go against the will of God.
That's what the world does.

If your thinking is twisted you will hurt other people to get ahead and stay ahead.
You will purposely misinterpret their point of view, you will presume to undermine their character and discredit them all in an effort to keep your own lies hidden.
Why would people do that?
Because they don't believe God.

Without faith it is impossible to please God.
Can you understand how faith is not blind?
To disobey God is to not believe in His Son, because in order to believe in God you must believe in His Son.

The appeal to not trust in God begins with the offer of power which leads to greed.
It's how the enemy has always manipulated the minds of men.
The enemy did it in the garden, with Eve, he did it with the LORD up on the high mountain.
The devil will always offer you an opportunity to partner with him.

It's how people with power issues continue to appeal to men, by appealing to their sense of greed or lack.
By asking you if you really want to do something substantial because right now you really aren't.

When you begin to trust God based in His truth you have started on a monumental journey and I know that you will contribute substantially to those around you.

If you believe that you don't have something or are not contributing something already, you can be misguided.

The difference between a promise of God and a promise from men is that men require that you pay a price, but God has paid the price for what He promises.
Jesus did it.

Like salvation, when you receive Jesus, you have Jesus.
When you are baptized with the Holy Spirit, you have been baptized with the Holy Spirit.
Now either Jesus dwells in you or He doesn't, you have to know and believe.

Oh Yes Lord, God reveals.
Keep your face turned towards the Father and His Word and He will open all of the mystery up.
If evil can keep you scared and stupid enough, you will run from God to the evil works.

After Adam and Eve sinned they hid from the presence of The LORD GOD.
Like many people do today because they don't know that they don't have to.
Don't turn from The Word of God.

What was their sin?
Their sin was that they believed and trusted in the opinion of someone other than God.
God who told them that He had given them everything that pertains to life and godliness and that they would not have to eat from any other hands.
Genesis 1:29; 2:16,17
John 3:18,19

A good example would be to look at the history of how Israel did the same thing.

Today as long as there are those in Israel who refuse to believe on the Name of Jesus they stand in sin.
The real assignment for the Gentile to the nation of Israel is that the gospel be preached to the remnant that will believe.

Some believe that our assignment is to stand in battle with finances and that we can purchase an extra blessing from God.
God can't be bought and neither can His Word.
The gospel must be preached to that nation because it will be the hand of God and Him alone that can deliver those who will receive Christ.

The LORD called to Adam asking him, Where are you?
Adam was afraid to show himself to God.
He was afraid because he was told that he was bare, naked, lacked something, that he wouldn't be able to achieve something because he didn't have all that it took.
All that it ever took was trusting God.

All that it takes today is to believe in The Son of God.

God didn't destroy Adam and Eve right there and then because He is a merciful and longsuffering God.
The Father had a plan to restore man through Christ who was before the foundation of the world.
It is Jesus who was with God before the worlds were formed, before man was formed.
Our predestination is in Christ.
If Christ is not received as LORD there is no sacrifice for sins, there is no deliverance in the battle.

It is Jesus who was tempted in all points and sinned not.
You can't overcome a man with what He already has.
A satisfied man can't be overcome with the offer of pleasure.
A man who is full up with God can't be overcome with a 7 course meal.
A man who has all of the mansions in heaven can't be overcome with mansions on earth.
A man who can call down legion upon legion of angels cannot be overcome by an earthly army made up of men.

There is nothing that this world can promise a woman who has Jesus Christ as her LORD and Saviour.
When you know who you are In Christ the appeal is lost on you.

When you know that it's Christ who justifies the ungodly and not how many apples you pick or wagons you tote, your motive for picking apples and toting wagons now becomes genuine.

Be honest with your self because God is not mocked.
What is it that appeals to you about what you have heard lately about salvation and Christ?

What is the appeal?
Is it the same thing that appealed to Eve?
