THANK YOU FATHER!
I have been thinking about two men in particular who define the word Legacy to me personally, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Henry Ford.
I have been thinking about how they both not only left an inheritance for their own children in monetary terms but in the legacy that they left that continues to reach multitudes of people through employment, motivation, education and health care.
I am fortunate enough to work for the institution that was Henry Fords vision and it is in this place that I learned about excellence.
I look at how Mr. Ford saw a vision bigger than one that would simply provide for his own family for generations to come, as his goal was to provide a place for our city and our state that would be a place of education, innovation and creative job growth.
Mr. Fords vision extended to me and my family.
Dr. King said that he looked forward to the day when not just his children would be judged by the content of their character but all children would be fortunate enough to be looked upon not by where they come from or what they are wearing or their accent or skin color, but that acceptance would be based in the primary principles of their heart.
A real man of vision is never simply concerned with all that he can get for himself or what he can do for you in return for what you can do for him, real vision and excellence seeks to transfer his ability to you so that all people are transformed by his work.
Dr. Kings vision extended to me and my family.
The principle substance of those of excellence is never to just create wealth or riches alone but to build a wealthy mind towards the future of all people.
Their example is one that will extend to my grandchildren. That a legacy is a value that money cannot provide but the principle substance of your heart if it is to provide the best that you can for those who have not, is a treasure that will not be eaten up.
Matthew 6:19-21
LOVE Y'ALL
These two men represent to me
I am very aware of Mr. Ford's political beliefs and the views he published in his newsletter. He still changed the world with his innovation.
