DON'T LOVE THE WORLDS WAY.
Acts 4:19
You know I began writing about the Lord because I would receive these e-mails that were supposed to be inspirational but they were manipulative and one sided.
They usually contradicted themselves even with quote "prayers" attached to them.
I would get so many of these poems and pictures.
Poems by famous folks even usually asking me to pass it on.
It gave the sender a since of purpose.
The intent of the sender for the most part may have been to encourage.
But they were mostly just sending me something that someone else had thought up.
Sending something that they had copied or repeating something that they overheard and thought it was profound.
Their heart was not revealed that it had spent any time before God.
It literally bothered me.
So the LORD spoke to my heart and told me to do something about it.
So I started to write.
I began sending e-mails to everyone in my address book.
I started out taking themes from lessons I had learned from books that I had read.
Lessons I had learned in church following teachings on faith.
There is nothing wrong with that if it helps.
Don't step into the realm of plagiarism though.
It makes you lazy.
Then I started to address whatever was going on in my life and in the relationships of the those around me.
Using scripture.
I didn't know what I was doing but what I was doing was not manipulating folks.
The devil uses manipulation not the Holy Spirit.
Not trying to be known, not trying to be noticed, not trying to tell people what to do.
Knowing the power behind the words and how they changed my mindset, I wanted people to experience that love, joy and peace that the Word has given me.
I was just putting the Word Of God on it.
Truth on it.
It is growing me.
The Lord started talking to me every morning and telling me what to say.
Building my faith and confidence in Him.
I mean I don't have to think about it at all.
I wake up pray and He just gives me what I am supposed to write.
I expect it.
This doesn't mean that I don't study the Word, if I didn't study His Word I would have no confirmation that it is Him talking to me.
This is how you know that it is Him talking.
A few thinking questions for today:
What has God said to you?
These things are in His Word.
You won't find them in a poem that doesn't say what He said.
Do you wake up and begin your day acknowledging His goodness?
Do you wake up with work or something that happened yesterday on your mind?
Do you ask the Lord to show you anything?
Give me understanding in this area Lord.
Do you expect anything from Him?
Because He operates based in our expectation of Him.
Do you wake up wanting to show Him anything?
It's not about what He can do for us, it's about us making a decision to do for Him.
He has already given us everything that we need.
Do you believe that He expects anything from you?
Are you too busy for Him?
Is all of your time spent trying to please and impress people above pleasing God?
Know that people who don't understand this or know this cannot cancel the work of the devil in your life.
They can repeat what they heard but they ain't got no power.
Open the Word up for your self so that He can speak to you.
