FAVOUR GOES BOLDLY

Because favour knows that their God will do it.

Psalm 44:1-3 (Lolita's version)
1 We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers in the Word have told us, what work You did in their lives, in times past.

2 How You did crush and drive out the adversaries with Your hand, and planted our fathers in their place and made them to flourish.

3 It was not by their sword that they won the land, nor did their own arm bring them victory or deliverance: but Your right hand, and Your mighty arm, and the light of Your face, because You have favoured them.

King David was a young man who was described as a man after God's own heart.
This young man walked and talked with God as he sat out in the plain watching over his father's herd of sheep.

There were times when wild animals came to steal away from that flock but because David communed with God favour rested on this young man's life.

Strength comes with favour and boldness comes with favour.
David took God's favour and slew a lion and a bear in order to protect the blessing and provision of his family.

Come on now Y'all.

David found favour in the eyes of the prophet over all of his big strong strapping brothers and was anointed.

David walked in the boldness of God's favour when every other man in Israel believed that the Philistine Goliath was just too great a challenge.

While everyone else was afraid David boldly asked " Who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?"

David said, This buster doesn't have a covenant with the living God, we do!
They tried to shut David up and send him home.
David didn't listen to them, he turned from the haters and kept on talking.
That bold heart spoke out so loud that King Saul said, "Go and bring me this boy who said these things.

We know the the story, Goliath was talking smack and he was all suited up in his armour with his sword.
Thinking that his size mattered coming against the LORD of Hosts.

You know those folks who think that their position is one where they can't be knocked down 2 or 3 pegs?
The arrogant ones who can't even see the stone coming because they have a parent or a spouse or a best friend who is the boss.
Oh Yeah!

But favour stood up and boldly said: You coming at me with a sword, a spear , a shield, a tank, H1N1, lies, firecrackers and the kitchen sink: but I come at you in The Name Of The LORD of Hosts, the God of the armies of Israel whom you have defied.

David said it ain't even about me or my size or what I'm carrying.

It ain't about my lack of education, I don't have no degree and you can tell that by my grammar.
I'm not coming at the enemy with a certificate.
That's Lolo talking now.

David said, This day, not tomorrow, not next week, not when the economy gets better, not when someone else comes and joins me or helps me, This day will the LORD deliver you into my hand; and I will take you out!

He said, I'm gonna take your head off sucker!
I am going to feed you to the buzzards and the jackals and everyone around will know that there is a God in Israel.

SHUT YO MOUTH!
Shaft ain't have nothing on David.

So what happened?
IT CAME TO PASS!

Favour got behind David.

If Jesus is your Lord you have the same covenant that David did.
Focus on it.
Get up early like David did and spend time with God, become one after the Lord's heart.

Whatever is coming at you is coming at the living God and God will give you the grace to take it's head clean off.

Father,
We lift our hands and our hearts to You thanking You for the Favour that goes boldly into the battle, knowing that it is not our arm but it is your love for us that gives us our victory.
